Some unfinished business must be be completed if we are to move on.

you know that noted kiss,
the one you ached for,
the one i secretly wanted--

even in the season
of alleluia chorus

it was a halfstep minor up
and a halfstep g-spot down

and i still know our tune
played the notes to our
nine year missing song--

you know that September look
the one that you gave
the one that i longingly crave--

it saw through my identity,
baptized me with your serenity,

almost a decade and
that memory
revisits for closure

i don't think you nor i
can continue to do our business
because our heartstrings pluck
that tune over and over

we are a dolce concerto
in search of
empty measures

and you and i alone
must conduct the final score.
