This poem was inspired by an actual dream that I had of a friend in distress.

During your tormenting dream you called my name,
Granting me access into your subconscious domain.
Your call summoned me and I came
Bearing witness to your deadly, dream game.

The horrific sight that greeted my eyes
Evoked my chilling cries of surprise.
Terror struck within the depths of me.
My mind couldn't comprehend your reality.

There you struggled within demonic grip.
Unseen forces your flesh did bite and rip.
Entangled within a strange web like mesh,
Being consumed unto your very death.

Fiendish entities were attached to thee,
Gnawing and nibbling leisurely,
Feasting upon your astral body,
Draining all the life force from thee.

Dear troubled soul, you had invited them,
By years of indulging in dangerous whim,
By excessive and deadly, abusive behavior.
I prayed that heaven would now grant you favor.

I tried and tried to rescue you,
To pull you free from their deadly residue.
Yet, despite my attempts again and again
I found my efforts were all in vain.

Only you could unchain your shackled mind
From fiendish leeches of a debauched lifetime.
You had fed them throughout many long years.
They now had grown strong upon your fears.

I tried and failed and was assailed
By dark forces much more powerful than I.
Forces beyond my imaginations, "why?"
Forces that were hell's damned allie!

Your self imprisoned dream reverie
Threatened both your life and sanity.
I knew we must escape before it was too late
For us to escape this hellish fate.

In horrific fear, I was vaguely aware,
Of my intense screaming of an ancient prayer,
To which amazingly, you in turn did reply,
With a most unnerving and piteous cry!

I begged you clear you mind with all of your might,
With all of your strength, this dream to fight.
Somehow, I envisioned a brilliant light so bright,
It hurled us free from your dark dream that night!

We soared into a glorious new, dawning day.
One of beauty and peace and of healing ray.
Into a sacred refuge for you and for me.
Into a splendid, restorative sanctuary!

A message clear, that it's never too late
To fight to be free of yesterday's fate.
No matter how devastating your state may be,
Always strive for better life quality!

Fight to be free in spirit, mind and body!

Gwen... A very wise metaphysical seer you are Mystic Muse! Your write reveals the deeper metaphysical laws and the subtle energetic ramifications of our karmaic patterns that we all must face and heal with Wisdom and positive inner changes. Your poem is very lyrical and upbeat in its meter while yet being profoundly intense in its teaching and warning. Excellent!
