The Flag of New Zealand
New Zealand is my Home
Do hyacinths in your gardens grow
And palm trees by your front door?
Or is your farm nestled below
Hills near a cool fjord's shore?
Do you visit Maori forests,
Have you seen each Maori dancer,
Boy or girl, whose chorus
Questions your every answer?
Have you crossed from North
To South, island to island,
From firth to foggy forth,
From lowland greens to highland?
I have, and surely will,
For New Zealand is my home,
A land of rare good will,
Were clouds by summits roam.

I loved this Heather, brought a tear to my eyes, for I love my home too, though I cannot be there right now, soon, oneday again soon.
Welcome to AD, please come visit me in my site, I wrote of our Tui in one particular write, and their are others.
I come from Taranaki, and grew up under the mountain ( maunga ) ranges, the bush became as a friend, no fear, just peace always.
I miss the old farm and the Grandparents so much too.
Take care Stay kapai
Hugs to you from Dry hot South Australia :)

Hi there, everybody! I am so happy you like my poem about my Mother, who was so dear to me. People here on Author's Den seem so nice.
I hardly know what to think about all the nice comments I have been receiving so far.
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Heather Alison Fairweather,
P.S. It is a lovely afternoon here today, sunny and very warm. It is the middle of Summer here.
