I've heard there are those that see tomorrow
an insight into the misty beyond
maybe they are good at planning ahead
taking all the right steps to its direction

I've heard there are those that live in the past
can never move forward always looking behind
as if there was something there they held onto
and it was so good or so bad they couldn't move on

I've heard there are those that see only today
enjoying each moment's intricate details
aware of the smells and tastes of the day
sitting carefree of misery and worry

who is to say where happiness lives
must it have a timeframe at all
I've heard its just a state of mind
appearing whenever it is chosen

sad to think it's often neglected
an unworthy emotion not in style
miserable, and heartache soup of the day
freely dispensed at most charity lines

if I had a wish for a peacefilled instant
I'd be in a dreamscape with you
let the world go to the apocalypse
while we blended into the light filled sky

FLUSH! by Tom Kitt

Flush! takes you on a poetic journey that touches many areas of human experience. But, in spite of the diversity the poems have a common resonance or theme that is ancient and agel..
