my only son, Gregory Douglas Turner,
August 8, 1969-December 3, 1992
(murdered)

****************************

Heaven sent me an angel--
though not mine to keep--
I held him in my arms
and rocked him to sleep.
Now both arms are empty;
my despair is deep.

He gave me warning, could see
through sweet angel eyes
as love had blinded me.
For Satan disguised--
fell deeply in sincerely--
in pits of his lies.

Heaven sent me an angel
on loan . . . not to stay.
Pure evil, overwhelming,
took my angel away.
He will join me some morning . . .
what else can I say.

Heaven sends me an angel
who knows the pathway.

Sad, but beautiful. The hope you have will give to others, I'm sure.

I know this was a very difficult writing for you, Sandy. You did it with classic style and grace.
A beautiful write of a parents love.
