Feburary 18, 1950 I was born, it could have been in a field of corn. I would have never known, because my brain hadn't grown. Different story now.

First look wasn't that spectacular,
quiet a few things seem peculiar.
Like having a father,
who never did bother.
Other members of the clan,
who placed my face in the sand.
Friends who hung around,
then tried to knock me down.
Smiling faces offering friendship,
surprise in comes the hardship.
A world of hate and anger,
full of violence and danger.
A brain that fought against me,
until I was old enough to think free.

My second vision is the same,
life can be a cruel tricky game.
My father still doesn't bother,
he gave me a mean jealous brother.
The members of the clan,
are even worse in their demand.
Friends haven't changed,
for this reason they're estranged.
Smiling faces,
still show no traces,
of the evil of their disgraces.
The world is even worse in hate and anger,
now we have world wide terrorist danger.

<But now>

My brain is on my side,
so I  have a smoother
ride.

Grady, you show how a man can handle adversity. You came through the war and here you are writing great poems and prospering with youir fellow AD writers. Those who understand the meaning of your words and what you are sayng to them, consider you an insightful and skilled writer; presenting us with the truth. Maybe we don't always love the truth, but we admire you very much for telling it. Your friend Bill

of mind to deal with it all..I find better friends outside of
the family than within...funny isnt it? I dont think it was
meant to be this way...but you are not alone in this...it is
a tough world.....bless you..floria
