Circadian Emotion

Circadian emotion rules my psyche
Despite my willed direction.
Nature, unconfused, despite me,
Wields unrelenting power
Despite my objection.

So, I'm learning
To prostrate me
Before its damned authority
Despite my spirits "liberty".

I wither away
On desiccated vine
Umbilical cord un severed
From prenatal virtue -
Denied birth to rebirth
As free agent of the earth.

She really has a way of capturing that specific mood & moment & succeeds in getting the reader all tangled up in it too! I really don't care for snobby critics & university/literary holier-than-thou intellectuals, I only know what sparks truth within me & turns me on! That is how all good poetry & prose should work... & yes, I am going on & on about her writing, still... it is because I follow my gut about what is good & true... & this definitely is! Here I present a few words to the wise... "Pay no attention to what critics say; there has never been a statue erected to a critic." - Jean Sibelius
