Bears, why I long for and love you
Somewhere back in mind and time
I had a teddy bear white and blue.
Sorry, but I must make this rhyme.
Truly, a bear was white and blue,
Remembering him with no fur.
Made of cloth, but he was new,
He was a plain bear,
but not a cur.
A real gift from a true grandparent,
To signified for- ever a special love.
A love rare and seldom apparent
Lost, but stayed in thoughts above.
Remembrance of my Grandma’s lap
A rare, yet, truly wonderful moment
Savored throughout time under cap
Developed into an urge, truly bent,
With teddy bears found everywhere.
Teddy bear cushions, even a throw
Some pullovers with teddy bears
Found them in places high and low.
But in my mind is one teddy bear
Had, but lost, yet, still cherished
Left a special memory of her care.
I will keep, until I have perished.
