Smoothe talk, lingering looks
Heart-shaped eyes
Poetry books
Roses that last
For more than a day
You hung
On every word
I'd say

Too busy to call
Not sure when you're free
Was it Valentine's Day?
Ah well
Silly me
Perhaps next week
Perhaps in may
I'll let you know
If I can get away

I can't talk now
No news anyway
Where DOES the time go?
What's that… did you say?

Should have told you
Long ago
Of course you're not
The last to know
If I'd had the time
I'd have told you before
Since you've brought it up
I don't love you anymore.

Katy, I would have to call this
an UNVALENTINE. But its great as always.

Wow, Katydid. This is probably the strongest thing I've seen you write. In fact, it's so strong, I think it may have been inspired by true life events. I know you'll stay strong, but I hope everything is all right with you.

Packed with punch, and protected by poetry...
that is the artist's viewpoint to a "T." You've
done well in this one, as in others I've read
from you.

Nothing like the direct approach, Katy, in an indirect way, that is. You chose your words well.

Katy, we protect our hearts from hurt. This is what I see here. Protection. Elimanating pain. Striking first. It's odd how we learn to ward off the bad. Only by doing that, we have to be careful not to banish the good as well. Very well expressed Katy! Lisa
