Where the stomach distends totally out of proportion. It is painful and uncomfortable.

Sometimes life can really take you by surprise and sometimes these types of surprises you can do without!
In my middle forties without changing my eating habits, or doing anything out of the ordinary, my stomach began to swell, to such an extent that when I went into our local bank with my husband I was actually congratulated on being pregnant.
Being devastated was putting in mildly!
Always being of an optimistic nature I decided to take myself off to the doctors in the knowledge that he would tell me why this ballooning of my stomach was taking place and also to correct the problem.
Unfortunately I was disappointed. Yes, he diagnosed the condition which was I.B.S. (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) but to eliminate it, all he offered was tablets.
Great, you would think, but like so many things offered by doctors today, the side effects out weigh the benefits. That’s my opinion anyway.
Nevertheless I was desperate and so I took them for a month and my stomach was just as bloated.
It was time to take matters into my own hands by investigating the foods I was consuming. Yes, I know I said my eating habits had not changed but clearly for some reason my body was rejecting what it had always eaten.
I began by eliminating certain foods in no particular order whilst at the same time I took a course of bitters.
Persevering for several months my stomach went back to normal.
From time to time I do take the bitters to detoxify my body but fortunately this has not reoccurred.
