A Child Of Purpose is my story, of acceptance of my youngest child, who was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.
A child of purpose is born nearly every day. Parents are over joyed at the moment of their arrival Yet when milestones are delayed, and the child never smiles. Hearts of parents are made to grieve, with the confirming news from the doctors prognosis. That your child will not learn ABC'S nor 123'S, and is labeled a statistic. With a pain like no other pain, guilt and condemnation begins to stalk your steps. Tears of sorrow roll down your cheeks, retreating to a bed of affliction and torment.
A child of purpose climbs into your world, and squeezes your arms very gently yet firmly. as if to say " mommy it's not your fault, nor is it daddy's. Look mommy, look at me mommy, I'm a child of purpose, it's alright mommy." In an instant, such peace and joy this act creates releasing you of your guilt and condemnation, responding in complete delight. Truly the delayed child, the child that cannot read or write, and the list can go on and on, yet each one is a child of purpose.
When all of your children are grown and gone away, a child of purpose you will have with you to rub your aching head, and to pray for you as you have taught them. In your time of tiredness, your weary feet they will massage. A child of purpose will even put your shoes in the closet, and give to you a glass of water to quench your thirst.
Soon you will discover your child of purpose blossoming and growing, fulfilling their purpose everyday. You should continue to exercise patience and love to your child of purpose. For God did not make a mistake, when He allowed a child of purpose to come into your world. The word of God reminds you from the book of Romans 8:28 which reads " and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. May this day be a new beginning for you and your child of purpose. Pause for a moment, just to give God thanks for your child of purpose!!!!!!
