My great-grandfather worked for the immigrant office, and my great-grandmother cooked and sold Haitian food to her neighbours. Grandma had to go to school. My great-grandfather kept trying and he never gave up. Grandma once said to me, "Your great-grandfather did not give up. And because he did not give up, one day we were able to come to America." When Grandma was fifteen years old, she and my great-grandparents came to live in America.
