Well Gang - here it is, the Last installment for the year 2008, which will be KAPUT in a few hours!

This concept started 6 months ago, on June 16, 2008 - when I get A ROUND TUIT - will combine all 14 into one larger file.

Anyone who is unfamiliar with the other authors here at Authors Den can pick any RE: title herein, copy and paste it, and go read what THAT AUTHOR posted. Then, this might make sense - otherwise, you will be thoroughly CORN-FUSED!

CAUTION - Read at your own PERIL!

RE: My Trailer Trash -

NOTE: Matlack told me some RV’s & Trailers DO have Solar Panels, but limited function.

ED - thanks for info -

Didn't know about TR & RV 's having them -

Gave me another bright idea - when I was a teenager and at the beach & wore thick coke-bottle glasses - used to light cigarettes with them - hot sun - focal point on tip & Voila! SMOKE!

SO - how about a BIG Pop-UP Magnifying Glass on top of Trailers, RV's, homes, whatever - to CONCENTRATE RAYS for faster, hotter Energy?

Have to make sure it DON'T focus on Propane Tanks tho - or KA-BOOM!

My Dear Woman - such a history - and you not only survived, but you ACHIEVED!

Terrific story - reminds me of an old book and movie -
"The Red Badge of Courage!"

JOY - PEACE - LOVE - THREE MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS!

Tom - P.S. not bad for 'Trailer Trash' - huh? :) :) :)

RE: J’NIA’s - What’s My Name? -

YOU GO GAL! SUCH FEISTY-NESS!

While you already told me it is not French, and your own creation - J'NIA sounds so to me, and reminds me of an old beautiful song bu NAT 'KING' COLE - here's the lyrics:

Nat King Cole - Darling Je Vous Aime Beaucoup - Lyrics
Songwriters: Sosenko, Anna;

Darling, je vous aime beaucoup
Je ne sais pas what to do
You know youve completely
Stolen my heart

Morning, noon and night-time too
Toujours, wondering what to do
Thats the way I’ve felt
Right from the start

Ah, cherie!
My love for you is tres, tres forte
Wish my french were good enough
Id tell you so much more

But I hope that you compree
All the things you mean to me
Darling, je vous aime beaucoup
I love you, yes I do

Wish my french were good enough
Id tell you so much more

But I hope that you compree
All the things you mean to me
Darling, je vous aime beaucoup
I love you, yes I do

(darling, je vous aime beaucoup)
I love you, yes I do

MALCOLM - FINE REVIEW!

I remember well the original - albeit some 50 years ago. look forward to seeing this film -

REEVES, CLEESE, and BATES are all good actors.

Recently watched - DARK KNIGHT - 21 - HITMAN - MADE OF HONOR - all good flicks - will do reviews when time allows.

RE: MR. ED’s - The Christmas Mouse -

ED - Shades of SPEEDY GONZALES -

Your tomato just reminded me - need to add PEANUTS to my list for Fat Ole GUS.

Although I put down some Xmas nuts for him, guess the shells of walnuts, brazil nuts and pecans are too hard for him? An occasional almond works tho' so he ain't starvin' yet!

As there has been no 'evidence' (as in mouse-turds) anywhere else, I assume he is keeping mostly to his kitchen corner 'domain.' As no other family members have yet to appear, it is also assumed that he is, in fact, a MALE! That's a good thing, because preggy females could present a bi-lateral housing problem. Ya know, that old 'Three's a Crowd' adage applies here.

Two Bachelors can get along fine - no muss, no fuss - live and let live! The fact that he's nocturnal helps also, rarely 'bump into' one another, ya know. And beings I felt no need to advertise his presence to my Lady Friend, Gus is apparently cunning enough to remain covert while she is visiting. WISE MOVE!

I've also strategically placed my one and only broom OUTSIDE the trailer, under the steps - just a safety precaution, doncha' know! Another good sign that he is still alive and well, is the fact that no STENCH has yet been detected - IPSO FACTO!

I've yet to figure out where he is obtaining H2O SUPPLY. No 'evidence' anywhere on the counter-top, nor anywhere around the sink. I do maintain a large clear glass vase, half-full of water on the kitchen tile floor, for watering plants with house temperature wasser, but if he ever climbed up the table leg, then tablecloth and got in it - he would DROWN!

The only other source within, is the bathroom, and that's a good 32 feet away - and no 'droppings' ever there. So, I surmise that wherever the entrance hole in the floor is, he must make nightly excursions to the exterior? Lord knows, we've had plenty of rainfall.

Well, that's all for now -

from ME N' GUS to YOU N' SPEEDY - HASTA LA VISTA, BABY!

RE: Randall D. Barfield’s BLOG - Missing You -

RANDY - YOU LEFT?

Thought you were referring to Elizabeth Lucas-Taylor?

I considered leaving, but I'm a Fighter - and unless and until someone recommends a better site, with similar NICE people and good STATISTICAL DATA - I'm here for the duration!

Spent many months prior to AD . AOL and 2 other places, but they SUCKED - and had more BS than you could 'shake a stick at' -

Been here now, over 5.5 years, and the OLD, OLD, OLD 'REGULARS' like:

MR. ED, MATCHLESS LACKING MATLACK, GEORGE "EDVARD' MATEOS, and of course the TWINS - KARLA & KAREN, and a few other sundry ole FOGIES - are still 'hangin' - so, I'm in Good Company -

If'n you weren't BOOTED - then, by all means -

C'MON BAAAAAAACK - as you will be sorely missed!

Mr. Ed

Two Bachelors can get along fine - no muss, no fuss - live and let live!

Excellent! And may you two bachelors co-exist very happily together, for a very long time!

As for Speedy, I suspect he sneaks into our house quite frequently, but I ain't gonna tell my pets or my wife that! And I am giving him a nice juicy tomato for Christmas. And Feliz Navidad to you and good old Gus!

Flying Fox Ted Glines MSW

Ha! It's me and Gus all the way. He's a hermit. He's nocturnal. Us hermit night-people gotta stick together!!! And just like me, Gus drinks beer, not water (if you get up at 3:52 AM, you will see Gus weaving back to his hermitage in the corner). Lest we miss an opportunity -- when Chrysler goes belly-up and hits Chapter 11, they'll have to dump all their executives -- and we can make Gus their new Chairman of the Board. Yay, Gus! Yay, Gus!!!

Marcia Miller-Twiford

Very entertaining read Tom. Are you sure you didn't house break him?

MARCIA -

NO - but that's close - Gus is Trailer-Broken -
He broke in - he breaks out - HELL - maybe his Momma or Daddy taught him to go potty outside?

Face it, considering where I live - dead end trailer park - oops! sign says Liberty MOBILE Park - up over a bridge crossing the Beltway, nestled next to Back River, across from the WASTE TREATMENT PLANT - a veritable dead end island almost - he has to be a Field-mouse, right?

OH - forgot to include in my story - he is named after the little Fat mouse, Octavius (Gus, for short) in Disney's Cinderella!

LINK - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinderella_(1950_film)

Cinderella is a 1950 animated feature produced by Walt Disney, and released to theaters on February 15, 1950 by RKO Radio Pictures. The twelfth animated feature in the Disney animated features canon, the film was directed by Clyde Geronimi, Hamilton Luske and Wilfred Jackson, based on the fairy tale "Cinderella" by Charles Perrault.

Songs were written by Mack David, Jerry Livingston, and Al Hoffman. Songs in the film include "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes", "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo", "So This Is Love", "Sing Sweet Nightingale", "The Work Song", and "Cinderella."

The film received three Academy Award nominations for Best Sound, Original Music Score and Best Song for "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo".

We also sang for Pope John Paul II, when he was here in Baltimore, and that was part of our repertoire - also rang Handbells - such fond memories live forever - and ever - and ever ...

RE: MR. ED’s - HOLIDAYS OF YORE -

ED - FINE JOB YOUNG MAN!

"Aaaaah Yes - I remember them well ..." - Maurice Chevalier in GIGI ...

Stringing popcorn with a needle, to decorate the tree - then, there was the
"ANGEL HAIR" made from fiberglass, that Mom washed my Dad's 'long-john's' in - and almost ITCHED him to death -

Having snowball battles with cousins and neighbor kids - drinking home-made egg-nog BEFORE blenders were invented, and swallowing a big long hunk of SLIME ... YUCK!

HOMEMADE 'HARD-TACK' COOKIES - that would break your foot if dropped!

Those cute little bottles of sweet MANISHEVITZ WINE - cherry, white grape, concord grape, and a fourth flavor that escapes me now - that I SNUCK from the 'ice-box' - sat in a corner, sipped, and got my FIRST LOAD ON -

The old uncles and aunts gathered round the ole pianer 'chirpin' tunes' - my very first battery-operated remote-controlled car, that had a long WIRE ATTACHED to the control box - when the bumper hit a table or chair leg, the spring-loaded mechanical what-cha-ma-call-it shifted the bumper and the car REVERSED direction until the back bumper hit something!

My very first pair of flannel GENE AUTRY PAJAMAS! WOW! MY FIRST bicycle - my SISTER'S OLD GIRL'S BIKE that Dad so patiently painted, added a battery-operated horn, red-white-and blue handle-bar plastic streamers - and HID out in the garage - did my innocent face betray my disappointment when I saw it had no BOY'S CROSS-BAR? I HOPE NOT!

Tough times financially -
BUT NEVER EVER A LACK OF LOVE AND CARING - AND FUN!

Aaaah - yes, my Friend - I REMEMBER THEM WELL!

BUT - GUESS WHAT? THESE ARE THE GOOD OLE DAYS NOW!

WHEN MY EYES OPEN IN THE MORNING I SAY - "THANK YOU GOD, FOR YET ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL, WONDERFUL DAY!"

PEACE - ED - MEAN TALL WOMAN REBECCA -
AND ALL THE LUCKY CRITTERS AT THORNWOOD MANOR!

Speaking of BATS - last Sunday, we were helping my niece, Bernie, to move into her new apartment - while out on the rear porch deck, a nephew spotted him - a Baby Bat - up in the right corner, hanging from the cement ceiling -
She has SAM, a conure, WINNIE, a Shelty, and two cats - HARRY, a Fat Orange
Tabby, who looks like GARFIELD, and now a Bat, she immediately named ALBERT!

WOW! HOW POIGNANT, AND DOWN TO EARTH!

Hiiting us right in the face - with realism and FACTS! SUPERBLY DONE!

While I am no Bible scholar, the only time that I remember reading anything about CHRIST being upset, and showing any temper - was in the Temple - "you have turned my Father's House into a den of thieves!"

Other than that - always Meek, Mild-Mannered, Caring, and always Understanding, and LOVING!

RE: MATLACK’S - When the Muse Cues -

ED - WELL SAID.

SUGGESTION: I did this 25 years ago - but haven't done it since - had a small mini-cassette pocket-sized recorder - is especially great while driving. Whenever a thought springs forth, just press one button - RECORD - CAPTURE IT! Later, can be rewound, played back, and then typed.

I recorded an entire book like this on about 25 double-sided 45 minute tapes - then just handed each one to a secretary, who typed it for me.

Another thing that is possible, is this mixture of old and new technology - if you have a Printer, like mine, that does Printing, Copying, and Faxing - you can take any old printed page, SCAN it, then upload to your computer, name and save it on a word-processing software, like WORD - and then EDIT -make corrections, copy & paste, move paragraphs around, move or delete totally unrelated thoughts that were captured, like footnotes, or side-thoughts, or even TO-DO LISTS, or little recorded reminders, shopping lists - WHATEVER!

CHEAP - OLD-FASHIONED - BLENDED with HIGH-TECH -but still Functional - As an example, I had many old printed pages of old poems, stories - that I had no desire to RE-TYPE - SCAN BABY - SCAN!

P.S. - Lose the Apostrophe in title - should be simply verb - Cues.

HAPPY WRITING - NO EXCUSES FOR MUSE CUES!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TOO!

TOMKAT.

RE: Malcolm Watts - Movie Review - VALKYRIE -

MAL - Thanks for review - am looking forward to seeing it, when Netflix gets it.

Perhaps Clint Eastwood's face and quiet demeanor - like DIRTY HARRY - would have been a better choice?

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Tom.

WITH A MISSION

IS THAT WHAT YOU’RE WISHIN’?

THEREIN LIES THE QUESTION!

RE: Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen’s - “Character ‘Ass’ass’ination” -

ERIN - poignant write! Since time immemorial people have searched for the ever-evasive, so-called 'TRUTH.'

Each person's individual BELIEF is his/her TRUTH -
Not what other self-professed pundits say!

My personal belief system goes all the way back to the 1600's -
William Shakespeare's HAMLET - Act I, Scene III - Lord Polonius -

"This above all: to thine ownself be true ,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.
Farewell: my blessing season this in thee!"

Although I adopted these words as my philosophy of life at age 17, until just now (at age 68) I thought the words were spoken by Hamlet himself! Just a great example of how easily we may be fooled - 51 years passed, and now I learned this little 'truth.'

But being true to myself has never failed me - nor my dealings with others!

To paraphrase another adage - "Truth is in the Mind of the Believer!"

FROM: http://shakespeare.about.com/od/shakespeareslife/a/Biography.htm

If you visit Holy Trinity Church in Stratford-upon-Avon, you can still view his grave and read his epitaph engraved into the stone:

“Good friend, for Jesus' sake forbear
To dig the dust enclosed here.
Blessed be the man that spares these stones,
And cursed be he that moves my bones.”

PEACE - Tom.

Dang! A whole flying bunch of cool blurbs there. Nice!!!

Tom, do you have a Website of your own where you can make pages and compose and format, and stuff? If you do, you can compose on your own site, copy the finished product, then come to AD and paste your composition into your new text box. Your composition will hold true and AD's annoying left-justify trip will be a thing of the past. If you don't have a Website, let me know and you can use one of mine (which I only use for composing stuff). You can do some cool stuff :-)

Ah, finally ... Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
