The Alliance considers establishing its new government in Corsucant, which is still controlled by the Empire. With rumors of the Sith still in existence, Luke's help is needed to investigate the Empire-controlled capital. A hit is taken out on Jedi Trisha Summers' life.

Episode XI

"We need to persuade Queen Everon to join our cause," Kronos Edlin, a senator from Nirauan Adumar, was saying to the members of the Alliance's high command. "Or we'll have to expend important resources like General Solo and Commanders Skywalker and Antilles to attend to incidents like we had at Tatooine the other night."
"If you let me reconstruct Rogue Squadron," Wedge interjected standing tall and proud in the back of the grand hall. "We can take care of this problem."
"With all due respect to you, Commander," Edlin smiled at Wedge, turning his gaze toward the tall Mon Calamari, dressed in his white military uniform, next to Mon Monthma. "And you, Admiral, the fleet or Rogue Squadron can only temporarily fix the problem."
"There's a lot about Queen Everon we don't know," Leia pointed out. "I think we should be cautious about giving her our trust."
"I've never known you to advocate caution, Princess," Edlin mused, his tone inflected with light amusement.
"I think it's warranted in some circumstances," Leia said coolly.
"I suppose you think this is one of those circumstances," Edlin said, thoughtfully stroking the goatee on his chin with his thumb. "Did you deduce this yourself, or did someone else impress you with this opinion?"
"It's no secret that Luke Skywalker is a close personal friend of mine," she replied.
"You are aware that Commander Skywalker is a Jedi Knight," Ackbar added.
"Yes, thank you," Edlin said annoyed. His gaze swept around the chamber not seeing the Jedi present. "Pray tell, where is Commander Skywalker? I thought he was supposed to be here."
Luke was still shaken up by the nightmarish vision he had last night and was in no condition to attend the meeting. "Luke's otherwise engaged," Leia said, making a polite excuse for her brother.
Eldin raised an eyebrow. "He's not sick, is he?"
"He's ...," Leia began, lifting her gaze to give Eldin a disapproving stare. ".. He can't be here. Isn't that enough, Senator?"
Eldin didn't like what Leia was implying. "I'm not suggesting Commander Skywalker is skirting his responsibilities by any means," he argued as he paced back in forth in front of the long table. "It's just I think I should refrain from making a major motion considering he's not here to vote on it."
"What kind of motion?" Leia asked suspiciously. Sensations rippled through her. She had a feeling Eldin was up to something, something fishy, but what? Damn she wished Luke had taught her some of the basics of reading impressions she'd sensed through the Force.
Eldin sighed, "I don't see the point in mentioning it but I think we should try to establish the Alliance's new government on Coruscant."
"Forgive me, Senator, when was your last psych eval?" Ackbar said in a gravelly voice.
Eldin issued the admiral a cold glare. "I assure you I'm in full control of my facilities."
"Coruscant is still under the control of the Empire," Ackbar informed him. "We'd have to use all the resources and manpower we have to take control of the planet."
"Queen Everon has pledged members of her elite troops with her son at the helm to aid us in this cause," Eldin said.
Leia's eyelashes fluttered quickly. "She told you this?"
"Apparently she responds better to diplomatic finessing," Eldin said relishing how the queen wanted to work with him, not the princess. "But before we mount such a campaign, I think we should do some investigating."
"You're sending this to a committee?" Leia said with a wry tilt to her eyebrow. "I thought you weren't one for caution, senator."
He wrinkled his face in disdain. "I'm not sending this matter to a committee, princess, I'm sending it to an expert -- a Jedi Knight."
"What?" Leia blurted in surprise.
"I've heard there's a Sith Lord running around and he's operating on Coruscant," Eldrin said.
Whispered rumors and concerned snippets circulated around the room. Everyone in the room knew the last of the Sith had been eliminated when Luke killed Vader and the Emperor.
Leia laughed softly. "The Sith are dead, senator. Luke destroyed the last of the Sith before Alliance pilots blew up the second Death Star."
"I'm not so sure," Eldrin said, "and can you honestly tell me you're sure of that fact, Princess. I mean no disrespect to Jedi Skywalker, but I would feel safer if I'm assured beyond a shadow of a doubt there aren't any Sith on Coruscant before moving our government seat there, wouldn't you?"
"Yes," Leia said.
"Good," Eldrin said. "Then you'll second my motion to send Commander Skywalker to Coruscant to see if it's safe?"
"No," she said softly.
"What?" Eldrin glared at her sharply.
"Let me talk to him about this," Leia said looking at him pleadingly. "Please."
"Very well, princess," Eldin said folding his hands over his stomach. "I'll give you some time to speak to him about this matter."
"Thank you," Leia said with relief.
Her thoughts churned. She wondered how she was going to break this development to Luke.

Demilih Grogg's face was etched with a chiseled frozen expression. His arms, spread wide, were relaxed in the arm rest of his chair. His cassock sleeves drooped over the edge of the arms.
He was deep in his meditation when a scrawny aide ran into the chamber.
"My Lord, Kronos Eldin is here," the aide said out of breath.
"Send him in," Demilih said with a casual wave of his hand.
The aide bowed repetitively as he scurried out of the chamber.
Kronos, dressed in flowing emerald and black regalia, entered the chamber. He stopped with a few feet of Demilih's chair and bowed at the waist. "My Lord."
"You have news," Demilih said, his voice exuded a mixture of knowing and pleasure.
"Yes, my lord," Kronos said standing rigid in Demilih's presence. "The pieces are in motion."
"Good," Demilih said, savoring that Skywalker would soon be in his hands. "I have another mission for you."
Eldin's face brightened. "Yes, my lord?"
Demilih nodded. "You must kill Trisha Summers."
