Her eye was caught by a Cowboy she wanted to meet

His truck was broke down on the side of the street

So she took a chance and offered him a ride

They laughed and talked in her truck side by side

He was all she had been dreaming of

She took it as a sign from up above

For her it was love at first sight,  exciting and new

For his love,  there was nothing she wouldn't do

She believed his love was true

When she looked into his eyes,  together-forever is what she saw

So she gave her heart,  her soul and her all

Day after day she would wait for his call

They would laugh and talk on the phone but longed for what was missing

They yearned to be touching,  hugging and kissing

He stayed at her house every chance he got

She wanted this Cowboy and needed him a lot

She started feeling pressured,  he wanted to move in

She could feel her heart starting to give in

That's when the butterflies began

He only had one bag to unpack

A committment had been made and she couldn't turn back

As the months for  them went by

They spread their loving wings to fly

The love they shared

No other could be compared

One day he asked her to be his bride

Scared and unsure,  she trembled and cried

Her past mistake,  to him,  she began to confide

He said he didn't care about where she'd been

He promised to love and take care of his wife and best friend

She started planning the wedding with her head held high

And vowed to herself she would love him 'til the day she would die

The wedding day was perfect,  straight from a fairy tale

She was so beautiful,  walking the rose petal trail

This is the day she'd waited for all her life

She was finally going to be the Cowboys wife

Donned in white she walked the isle to "Southern Grace"

You should have seen the look on everyone's face

The "Cowtown Corrals" was transformed into a breath taking place

After the vows were said they played "I Cross My Heart"

She believed the rest of their lives were off to a great start

Their days would be spent,  heart to heart

Their problems began a few months later

His wants and needs became much greater

She felt more and more she had to cater

There wasn't enough money to go around

With bills mounting,  she felt she might drown

Their communication was on shaky ground

There were many times he couldn't be found

She began to feel traped in the life she was leading

She had lost the lover and friend she was desperately needing

So,  she packed his bags and told him to leave

Frozen in her tracks,  she couldn't believe

He walked out the door without saying a word

The four words she longed for,  were never heard

She would have taken him back if he had only said

"I still love you"

Her choice was then made as to what she should do

It was obvious to her their future was through

Now it's court dated,  attorneys and the big D decree

She has chosed once again to be free

For her it's the way that things should be

Everyday is a struggle to make ends meat

She feels like she's stranded on a dead end street

Her journey through life is now discreet

Together-forever doesn't mean a thing to her anymore

She was blinded by that dream two times before

She knows that love will again come knocking at her door

But she's lost the desire to let go and explore

A fate that seems so sad--but true

The reasons for her are hard to constue

Together-forever is a fantsy at least to her it seems

She's been hurt too many times,  to keep chasing those crazy dreams!!
