Honey gets a surprise and goes to the Spa.

“Ding Dong!”

“Oh! Oh! It’s the door bell. Who can it be? It can’t be Daddy as it is his day off. Hmmmm? I better go to the door and let Momma and Daddy know there is someone at the door. “Bark! Bark! Bark! Momma! Daddy! There is someone here! Come Quick!”
Honey runs to the door, with Rags and Archie and sounds the alarm, “Momma and Daddy! Quick! Quick! Quick! There is someone at the door!”
Honey thinks of who it can be as she sounds the alarm, Maybe it is the nice Pizza Man, or the Man who brings the fish dinners. We always get a small treat when Momma and Daddy are done eating. Yeah! We love them!
But no? It is too early in the day for the food people to come. Honey thinks hard on who could be at the door, “Bark. Bark. Bark.”
Oh good, here comes Daddy, “Maybe he will make us go into the spare room while he answers the door? He always does that as people are scared of Rags and Archie and me. I don’t know why they are scared of us, we just tell Mamma and Daddy that someone is here, and when they open the door, we want to be the first out to greet the new guest. But they always run away. We chase them and try to tell them that we just want to say hello, but they just get scared and run faster.
Daddy makes Rags and Archie go into the spare room. He has the lead and he is attaching it to my collar. Is he taking me on a ride or a walk? This is very strange as he hardly ever does that. Especially when there is someone at the door.
Daddy is opening the door and there is a man standing there. He bends down and runs his hand through my fur. I like him as he is not afraid of me. He talks to me very nicely and smiles like we are friends. I wag my tail and give him my best smile.
The man stands up and talks to Daddy for a while and then Daddy hands him my lead. Oh no! What are you doing Daddy? Are you letting this man take me. I have been a good girl. Are you making me go away?
The man pulls my lead and I look back nervously at Daddy and Momma as the man takes me away. They Smile and wave at me. I hang my head and slowly follow the man to the front of the house. Why is Momma and Daddy not coming with me? Why only me? Why isn’t Rags and Archie coming too?
When we get to the driveway, I see a big pink van. It says “Shampooch” on the side. What is Shampooch? The nice man opens the door and we get inside. WOW! What a big van. It is better than the car that Momma and Daddy have, but there is lots of stuff in here and no place to look out the window. There aren’t even windows in this van.
The nice man closes the door and puts me on a table. Hey, I know what this table is. It is like the one at the vet, where they cut my long beautiful hair. That would be nice as it is getting summer here in Dubai and all this long hair is very uncomfortable in this heat.
The man takes off my collar and hooks another collar on me that is attached to a pole that holds my head up. Yep! I am getting my hair cut. Yeah! I stand patiently as he does something behind me. I hear the noise of the hair clipper thing. He runs his hand over my back and begins to shave off my hair. He is very gentle and kind and I like him cutting my hair.
Pretty soon all my hair is cut off and he even trims my face and ears. My tail? Oh wow. He is even trimming the long hair on my tail. Yeah, I like that.
Then he takes a hose thingy and begins spraying me. WaHoo! It must be my birthday! Daddy gives me a bath in the bathtub and he sprays me with the same kind of hose thingy. He only does that once or twice a month as he knows I am afraid of falling in the slippery tub. But I like it as it makes me feel all clean.
He sprays me all over and puts the soap on me and they rubs it in. Ooh! This feels sooo nice! Then the spray again. Nice warm water, washing away all the loose hair. I feel so nice and pretty.
When the bath is done, he dries me off and then takes a hair drier, like Momma’s and gets me all dry. Wow, I didn’t know Momma had such a good time drying her hair. This feels good. I hope Momma and Daddy let’s me do this more often.
Now, what is he doing? Oh, the nice man is going to trim my nails. That is good as I chew on them sometimes, but Momma makes me stop. They don’t usually get too long as we walk almost every day and that keeps them short.
I like this man. He is putting powder on me to make me smell nice. Oh yes! I get a bandana. Oh Yes! Yes! Yes! I lick the nice man. I used to have a bandana and I loved it so much! But it got lost. Now I have a new one. Yes! I love it as it looks so pretty. And it is PINK! My favorite color.
Sigh! Oh well, it is over. He is taking the color with the rope on it off and putting my collar with the beautiful jewelry back on. I love MY collar. It means that I have a family.
The nice man opens the door and picks me up and puts me on the ground and closes the door. I am puling at the lead. Momma and daddy will love how beautiful I look and how nice I smell. I feel so wonderful!
I pull the man to the front door so I can show Rags and Archie and Momma and Daddy how lovely and pretty I look.
Daddy opens the door and I hear Rags and Archie barking from the spare room. Wait till they see me. Daddy opens the door and bends down. I jump into his arms as he hugs me and runs his hands over my short beautiful hair. He kisses me and tells me how pretty I am. I feel so good! Thank you Daddy! I lick him all over his face and run into the house to show Momma.
The man is going now and Momma opens the spare room door and Rags and Archie come running out. They see me and run over and sniff me all over. I stand proud, showing off my new do. They tell me how pretty I look and we play a little. But I am so beautiful, and I keep telling Momma and Daddy thanks for making me more comfortable. What a lovely day at the Spa!
