My son's thoughts on the Constitution
“We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this the Constitution for the United States of America.”
This is one of the shortest paragraphs in the Constitution. As far as I’m concerned it’s the most important. This paragraph for me summarizes one of the major problems of today’s youth.
All of the things listed in the preamble revolves around one thing, provide for the common defense. A startling number of teens today if you were to ask “are you going to go into the armed services or law enforcement?” I guarantee you half of them would say no.
A large majority of them believe our rights will always be there. However, if no one protects them, I don’t even want to think about that scenario.
So as a proud American I intend to register at age eighteen and protect every right I have ever taken advantage of for those eighteen years.

| You are so right. There were only three things that protected this country and kept it free. God, Our Constitution, and our children. God has been banned from our schools, government, courthouse and even our places of business. "Our" politicians consider our Constitution to be an outdated document that needs to be reinterpreted to conform to "The Modern World." And this in what they teach our children in school. I'm afraid the worst of our enemies aren't the ones that shooting at us, because they can never win when America is strong. I'm afraid the worst of our enemies are among us, sneaking around, chipping away at what makes this country strong and The Greatest County on Earth. |

Wow, this is very impressive. I think you are exactly right in what you say and if only more young people gave this so much thought. Some of the shortest parts of writing are the most meaningful.
Nice analysis.
