Are dreams premonitions?

Teenage Dreams

This is a true dream that I had as a teenager.

As a teenager I was sort of shy about being around the opposite sex. I had my group of girlfriends that I hung around with. We never bothered much with boys; we always had something interesting to do together. But I would always daydream about a medium height, dark curly haired individual with no face. I did notice his hands though. They were husky, as if he were a lion... (This made me feel safe), but despite being large they were soft and unscarred. His built was muscular, but not fat and I could always wrap my arms around him with out any problem. I could hear him speaking, a voice soft and soothing. It was actually calming to the soul. We had conversations about the future together. He always said that he would be there for me no matter what. I really never paid attention to this dream when I first had it. But after it reoccurred numerous times over a year I started to believe that maybe it was true ...that I would meet someone like the man in my dreams.

After more of the same re-occurring dreams I would notice the clothes that he wore and could tell my friends the exact color of shirt he wore and how he rolled up his brown dress shirt. I even thought that I could smell his cologne! I never believed in dreams until my cousin brought her boyfriend to my house. As he sat across the table from me I started to shiver. There he was, the dark curly hair, soft spoken voice and those husky hands...even had the freckles that I remembered and that brown shirt with the rolled up sleeves.  Needless to say we got married a year later!

Wow. This is a fantastic story of life. Your dreams directed you. I wish that I had the same luxury of knowing when the right man came along. Or did he ever? lol. That joke is on me. But your story got me to thinking and my dreams do lead me from time to time. Just not where or who my husband would be. excellent Liz

I absolutely believe in 'Dreams'coming true that seems to me more of a 'prophesy' Given to you by God. I am glad that you get your man.

I come from a long line of females who had this gift. I could tell stories, just about my mom's dreams/night visions that woul full a book. lol Yes,yes and yes I believe in dreams.

Most interesring, thank you for sharing and God Bless.

wow, excellent write and almost a twight zone type dream. Hope you two are happy. I believe dreams can tell of things to come. Wow, you have been blessed by god and he hears and knows things that humans have no recollection of. I'm engaged and I had something similiar, I'll tell you in another email if your interested.

Your friend,

Charles ps. check out my good but controversial story-the curiosity shop, it is in the process of being revised by an editor but the story is up for your viewing pleasure.. tell me what you think

This is beautiful. Believe it or not, one of us had a dream about her "Dreamprince" years before we ever met and it worked out fine.

Dreams are wonderful, Helen. I do not claim to understand them but I love dreaming and thinking about what they might mean. Thank you for sharing this. Love and peace,

Well Helen...I believe dreams can indeed be premonitional as your story reflects! An interesting write, keep dreaming & writing as faith is the evidence of things hoped for, believe it can happen and it will.

I do believe in 'premonitions'. I once dreamed my first husband had gotten in a motorcycle accident when we were engaged. One night, when my sister answered the phone in the middle of the night, I knew... Sure enough, he was in the hospital, his bike demolished on a guard rail after a drunk driver pushed him off the road from behind. He lived, but had many injuries.
Thank you for sharing this. Wonderful story.
