OPEN THE DOOR!
Remember as you knock on doors
and walk from street to street --
Someday you'll stand at JESUS' door,
JESUS, the greatest treat!
You'll ask Him, "May I enter in?
I want to live with you."
He'll say, "When I asked that question,
tell me, what did you do?
TODAY He stands at your heart's door
asking, "May I enter in?"
He's waiting, for HE LOVES YOU,
and He'll take away your sin.
For no one - NO, NOT ONE of us
alone can find our way.
We all need JESUS in our hearts --
WILL YOU LET HIM IN TODAY?

THE BEST HOME OF ALL
Rachel and Robby were excited that Trick or Treat Night was finally here. Robby was dressed in his Spiderman costume and Rachel was a bride dressed in a beautiful white gown and veil. Her flowers were plastic, but she looked beautiful anyway as she pretended to "walk down the aisle."
Mother waited patiently on the sidewalk while Robby and Rachel knocked on doors. Her feet were hurting, so she was glad the night was almost over.
"They better be home," Robby grumbled, as they climbed up the long set of stairs leading to the big white house on the corner. He was getting tired.
"Well, if they are, it will be worth it," Rachel reminded him, "and this is the only way in."
When they finally reached the porch, they both knocked loudly on the red door, but no one answered. They could see a light in the window, but no one came to the door. And after they had climbed all those steps!
Oh, they had a lot of candy and treats in their plastic pumpkins, but that house was always their favorite one, with the best treats of all. The sweetest people lived there! Rachel and Robby could tell they loved children, they were so kind and always happy to share goodies with them.
Do you know that JESUS has a wonderful home in heaven waiting for YOU? There will be a golden street to walk on and delicious food to eat. He wants to show you AWESOME things and share many SURPRISES with you.
Jesus loves you so much! He loves each and every one, fat or skinny, short or tall, no matter what you look like. He even loves you when you do wrong things.
The wrong things we do are called SIN. God said we can't come to heaven with sin in our hearts. God's Word, the Bible, says, "All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Sin has to be punished.
But Jesus is God's one and only Son, and He took our punishment for us by dying on the cross. The Bible also says, "While we were still sinners, Christ (that's Jesus) died for us." Then three days later, Jesus came back to life! He is ALIVE in heaven today.
Do you know anyone else who could take your sin punishment for you? No one else is even good enough! ONLY JESUS! That's because Jesus never sinned Himself. He has always been perfectly good.
We can be forgiven for our sins and become God's children by believing what He says in the Bible about His Son Jesus. He tells us that we need to receive Jesus into our hearts (our lives) to forgive us from all our sin.
Another Bible verse says--Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
Would you like to ask Jesus into your heart?
You can talk to Jesus and say something like this:
Jesus, I know that I have sinned and I'm sorry.
I want to be forgiven. I want to be God's child and go to heaven when I die.
Please come into my heart and take all my sin away. Thank you for dying on the cross to take my punishment.
Jesus, I love You and I want to live for You now.
The Bible says, "To all who received Him, He gave the right to become children of God. All they needed to do was trust Him to save them."
Rachel and Robby were turning away, disappointed that no one answered their knocking when suddenly, the red door opened wide!
"Oh, children, I'm so sorry I didn't hear you at first! I was on the phone in the other room." Just like always, the lady who lived in the white house smiled in welcome and handed them each a bag, which they knew was brimming with special treats.
And this time, she had another surprise for them! Her face beaming, she showed them a book, holding it out for them to see.
"This is a New Testament. I have one for each of you. It's part of the Holy Bible, where God's own word is written. Read it every day, and it will help you to do the right things and to be a friend of God." and she handed Rachel a blue book and Robby a brown one. "Knowing God is the greatest treat you can ever have," she said softly as they thanked her with hugs and turned to go.
As she started to close the door, they heard her whisper, "Thank You, Jesus, thank You."
Robby and Rachel went down the steps happily,
waving their New Testaments in the air for Mother to see. This was a Trick or Treat night they would never forget!
THE END,
but it's really THE BEGINNING for Robby and Rachel,
and for anyone who accepts the free gift
of forgiveness from Jesus
