A pulse can be more than a pulse. It can take your breath away.
It was a cold winter night up in Bear Mountains, where Kelly, Susan and myself were on a small get away retreat to be away from the hustle and bustle of the every day work grind and dictorship of corporate bosses. No phones, Televisons, or outside communication could come through. The three of us just wanted to free our minds of love, lust and stress from the every day world of 2009. When evening came we all sat around the fireplace on large fluffy pillows. The only thing we heard was the sound of krackling wood that was blazing with a touch of reddish yellow lights of fire. The smell of the burning wood reminded you of wet cedar pine. It was pitched black in the cabin and all we could see was the shadow of the blazing fire up against the log cabin wall. We all laid on our fluffy pillows drifting off into a sleep. As Susan laid on her pillow she felt this pressure of a pulse. She laid very still to feel the pulse of this pressure to see where it was coming from. All she felt was that the pressure grew strong. Susan did not have a chance to see where the pressure was coming from before something covered her nose where she could not breathe. Susan last breath was the feeling of this pulse. As the night moved on everyones' voice grew faint. Finally dawn was breaking through the frost bitten window. I woke up to see a deer run pass the window and a squirrel nipping at a tree branch. I got up and stood over Susan and Kelly. I said " rise and shine". Kelly rolled over and said "it's morning already". Susan said nothing. I bent down to shake Susan and there was no response. Kelly and I looked at Susan and then at each other. We saw Susans' body laying still as a board. I rolled Susan over and looked at her lifeless body. Kelly and I screamed and screamed. We both took a deep breath and said what should we do? Kelly said "lets put her body in the truck and take it to town. Kelly and I rolled Susans' lifeless body in a sheet and carried her to the truck. We both went back into the cabin to get our belongings and all of a sudden, the door slammed shut making a loud bang sound. We both looked out of amazement at this HAND who had a pulse that bolted the door. We screamed so hard that the HAND jumped out the window breaking the glass. The hand was not attached to anything but itself. The squirrel saw this and screeched and it's mouth opened wide and the deers' head turned backwards on it's body. Stay Tune for the next episode
