What you got to do to make it.

I was on Tybee Island, Ga. this spring. It was a beautiful day on the island. As I was walking along the beach, Talking to anyone who would listen, like I always do, I struck up a conversation with a young man who was taking a break from setting up a very large tent for an Arts Festival the next day.
He told me he was working for this party company, hopefully temporarily, while trying to make it into the minor leagues of professional baseball as a pitcher.
I asked him about his fastball and he said it was in the low 90's, a respectable speed. He said he had a decent curve, slider and a couple other pitches, plus he was left handed, something prized in the pros.
I then asked him what seemed to be keeping him out of baseball on the professional level. He told me he wasn't quite able to do what they wanted from a pitcher to make the team.
I had no real idea what it was, with a decent fastball and the other pitches too, that they wanted from him, so I asked.
His answer was simple and to the point,
"Throw strikes".

Imagine that.

Walt, succinct with a walloping punch line. No matter the endeavor. Throwing strikes is crucial. I like your story. I was on Tybee last June while on vacation. I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael
