This is a true story and is one of my psychic experiences I have had over the years.

Once  while doing some traveling across the country with my daughter Vicki, she and I decided to stop at Estes Park, Colorado. One of her friends told her it was a very beautiful area. She and I are Mom and Daughter psychic cohorts. We got there around eleven o’clock at night and found a motel that was getting ready to close. Luckily they gave us a room. Everything in the little town seemed to be closed. We ask the motel desk clerk if there was any place we could find something to eat. We hadn’t had dinner yet. She told us that the only place that was open was the Bowling Alley, and they would make us a sandwich or something. As we waited for the man to fix our food, we asked about things to see in the morning. He said we should visit the Stanley Hotel that is close to there. It is my understanding that it is where Stephen King wrote and filmed The Shining. We woke up to a beautiful sunny May morning. We went and ate breakfast and decided to stop by the Stanley Hotel. We entered from the rear entrance. The hotel sat beneath gorgeous mountains. The outside of it didn’t look exactly like the hotel in the movie. It was white, huge, and beautiful. The sun shining on it made it look warm and welcoming. The moment Vicki and I walked inside the door, I could feel a difference in the energy that I had felt outside. I started getting my usual goose-bumps that confirms spirits are around. The inside of the hotel looked somewhat like it did in The Shining. We walked inside and saw a gift shop and decided to see what they had. We looked around and bought a couple things. The salesperson told us a little about the history of the hotel and said if we wanted to know more to ask at the desk. Vicki and I walked over to the desk and there were three young women and a young man standing behind the counter. We proceeded to ask some questions about if it was really haunted and the young man said, “You should go down to the basement and check out my room, the door closes by itself and scares me nearly to death.” One of the women at the desk happened to be the promoter of special events. I walked away from the desk and went over to a large empty room. I realized it was a ballroom. I stood there with my hand on the door facing and felt extremely sad. I kept peeking around to the right, and in my vision, I saw a young handsome man with dark hair playing the piano. Also in my vision, I saw people dancing and celebrating. Everyone was dressed in formal attire from what looked like the thirties. I began to take on a young woman’s feelings. She was so excited to see the young piano player, but she was very afraid someone would see her looking at him. She was very much in love with the young man, but he didn’t know she existed because she was just a worker at the hotel. She had such a sad feeling about her, knowing that he would never know the love she felt for him. I don’t think I had ever seen The Shining in its entirety. When I got back home I rented the movie to see if I could compare any of the hotel scenes with my visions. It was visions I saw, not memories of the movie. The promotions woman walked up to me and I told her what I saw. I asked her if she knew anything about a story like that. I thought the girl’s name was Elizabeth. She said she didn’t know of it but would check it out. She offered to show us around the place. She took us down to the basement where some offices were. Then as we were moving along, we went through a hallway and there was a picture of an old man on the wall. I said, “Boy, I bet he was a mean old cuss.” She said, “His name is Lord DunRaven, and he was at that.” She said, he has a room on the fourth floor that he thinks is his, and he upsets the people that stay in the room. I told her that I had been able to send some spirits to the light and put them at peace. I said that I would be glad to try to do that for Lord DunRaven and any others that were lost. Sometimes spirits have to be told they are dead and that they need to go to the Light. She wanted to take us up to the fourth floor to see his room, but said she wasn’t going alone. She asked her employee to go with her. The two of them, Vicki, and I started off for the fourth floor. The elevator that we got into was ancient. It was the kind that she had to guide with a lever and guess when we were at the right floor. She stopped the elevator on the fourth floor and the notorious room was right next to it. Across from the elevator was a stairway. I looked down the corridor to my right and saw a settee. Vicki asked me if I felt a presence there and I told her I did, and it was a young woman. She got the same impression from her intuition. I asked the woman from the hotel if I could go into the room and say a prayer for the old man to go to the Light. She said the room was occupied. I told her I was not sure if I could do the job from the hallway, but I would try. I hoped no living people would hear me, because they would probably think we were crazy out in the hallway performing a house cleansing. I told them I was ready and they told me to go ahead. I closed my eyes and started saying a prayer for God to send in healing light. I talked directly to the spirit of Lord DunRaven and told him that although he thought the room was still his, it wasn’t anymore because he was dead. He needed to leave because he was scaring the guests. I told him to leave and go to the light where God and his friends and family were waiting for him. I finished talking to him and saying the prayer ending it with In Christ name and Amen. I heard Vicki say, Amen. Without opening my eyes, I told them I should say a prayer for all the other lost spirits that were there. I went right into the prayer just as I had for the old man. I told the spirits that they were dead and needed to go to the light and to God. Their family and friends were waiting for them. Again, I ended the prayer with In Christ name and Amen. Vicki again said, Amen. During both prayers, I heard every word I was saying, and the only other thing I heard besides my own voice was Vicki saying Amen. When I finished and opened my eyes, they all quickly jumped into the elevator. I walked on behind them while saying, “Now doesn’t that feel calmer?” “They looked at me and said you scared us to death.” I said, “What do you mean?” “I just said a couple of prayers.” They said, “Didn’t you hear all that horrible noise?” I said, “What noise?” They said, “The stairs squeaking like people were running up and down them. The floor underneath us was rattling, the door to Lord DunRaven’s room was shaking, and the wind was blowing fiercely all around us.” I said, “You are kidding me right?” I could tell by the fear on their faces that they weren’t joking. I couldn’t believe all that had happened and I didn’t hear a thing. My only explanation is that I was deeper into trance than I thought. I was supposed to continue the prayers, so God didn’t let me hear it because he knew it would scare me and I would stop. I have some very protective guides that help me, as God does. When we got back downstairs, I told the people at the hotel that I appreciated them showing us around, but Vicki and I had to get back on the road because we had a lot of traveling to do. Maybe someday I would come back and see how things are. When my daughter and I walked out onto the porch, the goose-bumps left and the air was clean. I asked Vicki again, if what they said about the noises and stuff really happened. She said, “Yeah Mom, it scared even me.” I told her I wish we could have had a video camera going to see if it would have picked up the sounds and any pictures. I think that was my strangest psychic happening. There is a strange ending to this story. My psychic friend, Justina, from Los Angeles had given Beyond Chance my Email address about six months before. They asked her if she had any unusual stories, so she told them about me. In six months I hadn’t heard from them. When Vicki and I finished our strange trip and got to her apartment in Los Angeles, there was an Email for me from Beyond Chance asking if I had any strange stories they could use. Is that timing or what? I told the woman about the incident at the Stanley Hotel and she said it sounded like a good story. The woman from Beyond Chance, the woman from the Stanley hotel, and myself pitched the story. The producer talked to me and was all set to start filming the episode the next day. The next day he called me and said it had been shelved. I believe the reason for shelving the story was after talking with me, he saw how spiritual I am and how much I believe in my work. He realized I wouldn’t go along with any twist they wanted to use with the story other than the way it really happened. The woman at the hotel agreed with me about why he canned my story. I guess it was for the best. After thinking it over I realized I didn’t really want to be on television. Copyright by Judith Pleasant 2003

Wow! You have a very interesting life. However, you're right in not really wanting to be on television. They probably would have twisted your story into something completely unbelievable. Thanks for sharing your story with us.
