"Goddess Of Light"
By Amber Moonstone 6/21/07
Silence was all around. Darkness was creeping in. The forest was getting thicker and thicker as the beautiful Goddess ran away. She fled from her captor, scampering ever so quietly into the nightfall. She was almost at the outer edge of the thickest part of the forest, when she heard the earth vibrating from the sound of horses approaching. She ran faster, and found the opening of the cave that she sought. Ducking inside without a care, she hid from the passing riders. They were some men that she did not recognize. She was safe, for the time being. Calmly, she rested before she had to run again. After a few moments she began her flight to freedom.
Just a few hours ago, her life was hanging by a thread. It was either her or her captor. She did a heavy magic spell and with this came flight to freedom.
He was a gruesome ugly troll, trying to steal a Goddess for a conjuring spell. He was to mate with the Goddess and then he would have his beauty back.
Little did he know that he had captured
the Goddess Artemis who was literally born to serve as a nurturer and protector! She was Zeus's daughter and also known as the Goddess Of Light.
He had no idea who he had captured! The Heaven's will be shaken and the earth will rumble when Artemis returns home.
Days went by, and Zeus was desperately mourning the loss of Artemis. As he stood like a statue in his magnificent palace, forlorn and at a loss, with his face in his hands, he felt a soft hand touch his head. He looked up to see the splendid site of his beloved Artemis.
They embraced and held one another for a few tender moments. Just as happiness was felt, rage and hatred was developed. Zeus was angered with the news of her captor. He vowed to bring him to justice as swiftly as he was able.
Weeks went by, and Zeus did not return. Artemis stayed within the confines of their palace with her mother, but she did not stop her ever powerful spells.
She conjured up many images in her pot of liquid magic, but could not see her father at any time.. She was afraid to think that the powerful Zeus would not return.
Night had stolen her energy, and she was about to drift into her dreams, when she heard her father's voice in the distance. How ecstatic she was as she ran to him...She stopped dead in her tracks as she saw the ugly troll tied to a horse. Her heart began to pound, and she was fearful of his powers.
Zeus, commanded that Artemis go back inside and sleep. She obeyed but she was still frightened.
Night turned into day, and she awoke with a sense of renewal. Zeus brought the man into the house. She was to identify him as her captor. Just as she was about to say "Yes, that is him, a strange thing happened to her heart. She told her father that it was not him, that he made a mistake. The troll smiled and was released from bondage.
During the next two weeks, Artemis was to take care of the ugly troll to nurse him back to health. One evening, while she was cutting his hair, he reached for her cheek and tenderly kissed her. She responded by kissing him on his lips and embracing him ever so gently. She was unable to control herself and they made love and fell asleep with contentment. The morning hours crept in, and Artemis woke up to find a beautiful, blonde, God, lying in her arms.
She was filled with compassion and thanked the stars that he was saved.
She was truly a Goddess, and once again
soothed the fears of this troll/turned God.
Greek goddess Artemis gave him courage. she illuminated those places that terrified him and lent her strength to bring him safely through his fears.
