Second Part of the Josephine Story.

This is a continuation of my first Josephine Story, published last year at this time.  To bring you up to date:  Thomas Donovan's wife, Josephine was murdered.  Years passed and he was desperately searching for clues to her unsolved murder.  He was having "ghostly experiences" in a cottage near where he was living.  He begins to find answers to the mystery surrounding Josephine's murder/disappearance.

Every evening Thomas visited that house, and the same manifestation occurred.  He would go into the bedroom and feel Josephine and then the negative force would take over.

What was this that visited him there?  Was this a message from the grave?  Was she trying to tell me something?  Thomas was obsessed with trying to discover what was behind such serenity and then such violence.  Is this what happens when a person is murdered?  Do they try to re-enact their murder through a spirit?  Was Josephine’s ghost trying to tell him more than the police discovered?  He knew he needed help from an expert but who is going to believe such a bizarre experience.

He was trying to devise a plan when one evening when talking with Bea, he discovered that she was originally from his hometown.  He began to ask many questions and to his surprise he discovered that she knew the detective that was in charge of his wife’s case.  They talked about mutual friends and called it a night.

Bea left the cottage that night, leaving a note for Thomas stating she would not be returning for a few days.  No other explanation.  She probably went to visit relatives and eventually he would hear from her.

He had the cottage all to himself.  He was still drawn to that other house in the woods. He craved the essence of Josephine, so he visited that bedroom quite frequently.  Each time the same manifestation would happen.  First the softness of Josephine, and then the more violent nature would take over.  It came to be habitual, and he couldn’t stop going there.

One evening after dinner, he felt compelled to go for a walk toward that house.  As he approached the walkway to the front door, he smelled the cinnamon aroma but there was a fire burning in the kitchen.  He ran to the bathroom sink to get water to put the flames out.  Just as the last flicker of fire was extinguished, he felt the negative energy surround his body.  This time, it was much more evil than any of the other times.

He was actually pinned up against the kitchen wall.  This energy force was not that of Josephine, it was a darker more deadly energy.  He could smell death, and it made him wretch and vomit all over the kitchen floor.  This entity began to throw him around the kitchen, and eventually it stopped.  He picked himself up and walked into the bedroom.

He needed to connect with Josephine’s energy now, to calm him and give him some peace.  This time he brought along some sage incense and a smudging bunch of sage.  He was prepared to do a clearing of that room, even if it meant losing Josephine’s energy.  He did a clearing ritual that he got from a witch’s manual from the local library.  He did an incantation and began to clear the room of negative/evil energy.  He walked into each room and did the same incantation.  As he was finished, he felt a tug on his shirt. He turned to see  Bea  standing there behind him. He was puzzled, but he spoke to her,

“Bea, where have you been?  What are you doing here?  How did you find me?”

She simply replied, “Thomas, I just arrived and came looking for you. What on Earth are you doing?”

“I am doing a clearing of negative and evil energy. There is an entity in this house, that has been entering my energy.  Each time I am here in this room.  Tonight, however, it entered my energy while I was in the kitchen and it was much more violent than before.

“Oh Thomas, are you all right?  I just arrived home from my visit with my sister Caroline.  Her daughter became ill and she needed my help with her care.”

“That’s okay Bea, I am fine, I am a strong man, I can take care of myself.”

“I heard this house was abandoned by the last owner.  I understand he was sent to a mental institution not far from here.  He claimed that there was a good spirit and an evil spirit at odds with each other.  The authorities finally got his family to commit him. Now even his family has abandoned him.”

“Bea, do you think you can take me to see him? I must talk to him”.

“Sure, Thomas, just let me know when you want to go and I will bring you there.”

Without hesitation Thomas walked out of the door, and promptly headed for home. Upon returning to Bea’s cottage, Thomas prepared to make a trip to the mental facility. He had all kinds of questions and feeling swirling in his mind, but the one thing that seemed to be in the forefront, was the fact that Josephine’s energy was calling him.

On the ride to Laurel Lake Sanitarium, Bea was pretty calm and quiet.  They chatted a bit but most of the ride was in silence.

Thomas had learned that Bea’s niece had tried to take her own life and was also at the Laurel Lake facility.  As they approached the facility, Thomas couldn’t help but feel a dark energy.   The building looked like a restored southern mansion.  There were two lions on pillars greeting them as they drove by.  Thomas could see someone peering out of  an upper window, as if someone was trying to spy on them.  It was at that moment that an eerie feeling came over him.
“Bea, I can feel Josephine’s energy, it’s as if she has jumped into my body.”

“Oh, Thomas, don’t be silly, we are just about ready to park.  That gentleman over there, will motion us toward a parking space.  As soon as we park, we will have just a few minutes to get out and go into that gate over there.  So when I stop be ready to go.”

“Sure Bea, isn’t that a bit odd? Why such secrecy?”

“Oh just never mind, we will be inside in a minute.”

The girl at the front desk didn’t look a day over eighteen.

“Hello, Bea”, she said, “Back so soon?”

Bea answered, “Hello, Sandra, yes this is Thomas Donavan, he would like to see Mr. Mongillo.  Can you please tell us which room he is in?”

Sandra went to her computer to look up Mr. Mongillo’s room number.

Would that be “Vincent Mongillo, Bea?”

“Yes Sandra, that is correct”.

“Okay, found him, he’s on the second floor, in room 218.”

“Thank you, Sandra, we will see you later, have a very nice afternoon, now.”

Off they went to Vincent’s room.  Thomas requested that he go in alone and Bea went off to see how her niece was doing.  As Thomas entered Vincent’s room,  that same energy surrounded him as if he were at that cottage.  It was unmistakable.

Vincent was asleep, and he was mumbling something that Thomas could not make out. Thomas patiently sat down beside Vincent and spoke to him very quietly.

In a few minutes Vincent opened his eyes and saw Thomas sitting by his bed.  “Who are You?” he said in a very loud voice. Thomas quietly explained why he was there. Vincent listened with wide eyes while Thomas told the bizarre story about his experiences in that cottage.  Vincent began weeping uncontrollably. He couldn’t stop crying.  Thomas tried to console him, but he just kept crying.  Then he said to Thomas, “I knew you would come, finally, you have arrived!  Do you know what this means? It means that it’s all over, we are all safe now.”

“What do you mean, Vincent?” Thomas confusedly asked.

“My name is not Vincent, do you not recognize me?”  Vincent removed the false facial hair and hair piece.  To Thomas’s surprise he recognized this man as Detective Barrett!

Thomas fainted clean away.

Yes "JOSEPHINE (Part Two)" paranomally this story is very realistic. Indeed all characters are convincing, likeable and well rounded. I will tune in to part III when you present it Amber.

Thank you,

Viv (Amber) You have such a way with words, your lines and characters capture the attention of the reader, as we keep on reading and continue knowing, what is NEXT! I love crime movies, cuz I feel that edge of the seat feeling and wanting to know ~
YOur story filled in much from last year and a new excitement coming forward...Love your easy writing flow and how you keep the story filled with such imagery! Amazing WRITER you are! A story for the pages of a book, very soon coming... Psst...I watch those Ghost movies, and yes, Spirits do re-enact their murders over and over... wanting to be healed and cleared to go on. I love how you made Thomas and "US" think! I believe in SAGE-Smudging myself to rid rooms and homes of BAD/Negative energy, with a window cracked open for the negative to LEAVE for Good! I can't wait to know MORE! GREAT thoughts you have, sounds so familiar, which means too REAL!
WRITE ON!
Pss..Josephine wants her murder known, all truths, I think the killer has NO MEMORY of what he did and why, and I "feel" it was horrendous with good reasons ( to him not to her and her husband Thomas) is involved for some reason...WE shall see

I am staying tuned/intuned! :)

Much love, Light and Blessings, Warrior Purple Lady SHEExooo

Now...that's a rotten way to treat your readers, first you hang us in 2008 and when we had recuperated...WHAM! ! ! here's come another cliffhanger, if I was near you I would spanked you a little. :-)
Very good written, and to give it more authenticity we can add about that woman that needed to relocate to Texas after been raped again and again by some force that one University thought of caught with liquid nitrogen.
There is more between earth and sky than they will admit.

Georg

PS. come with the next chapter...and make it quickly! ! !
