Inspired by Walt Hardester's "How spoiled can we get?" I decided to publish this anecdote on how ‘tough’ it is to get trough life.
My husband is probably one of the easiest going guys, I’ve ever known. Very seldom he has a complaint or sticks his nose into other people’s business. So, when he returned from a local store the other day, shaking his head and shrugging, I asked him what was going on. He seemed almost sad and replied that he just couldn’t believe some people’s attitude toward life. Apparently he had been sitting at the barber shop when someone started the conversation about Christmas shopping and how little time there was left for it. Immediately everyone broke into chatter on how stress full the season has become and how many things they were to do. “No kiddin’!!” The owner of the store, a lady, who is glued in front of her soap operas between haircuts, agreed. And once she gained momentum she went into detail on how tough it is in general to get ‘through this life’.
Why do I judge her comment? Because this life is a God given gift and even-though we have the freedom of choice to do with it whatever we like to, I strongly believe that we have a responsibility of doing the very best we can.

| Yes, I agree that too many people whine and moan when they have NO IDEA of how most of the world lives. See my blog on authorsden from yesterday, called "Riches." I worry about parents who give everything to their kids from day 1. What's left to earn as they grow? Eileen |

Ya know, no matter how tough this life is to live it certainly beats the alternative. However, if she thinks this one is so tough, she should try living the life of Abdi-Noor's countrymen in Somolia.
Glad I could inspire a talent such as yours, Becca.

Spot on! Attitude is everything. TRUST me. I have a Grinchy one at times, and other times, I just sail through life...or try to, as best as my health (Such as it is) will allow. My life isn't essy by any stretch of the imagination, but it is certainly a lot better than most; at least I'm alive, have food in my belly, have a roof over my head, and the love of my Lord Jesus Christ and my twin sister (plus my friends here)! So I am indeed blessed! Very well penned, Rebecca; brava!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D
Merry Christmas to you, happy New Year, too! |
