The company I'm working for Mother Trucking 'cross the States

They always seem to blame us if ever we are late!

I got to yard 'bout 10 today and ready for a load

You'd think they might have had one well yes they did, but no!

We have a load so go right now. 'I can't!' I said, 'You fools!

The truck is out of diesel there is bugger all in fuel!'

For fuel you see they have a plan as diesel fuel is high

A really clever plan it is, but stupid I'll tell you why!

We are on the border twixt the States and Mexico

Fuel is cheaper way down south so off one truck does go

It crosses into Mexico and fills itself right up

The drives back over the border just to fill our diesel cups

(Note: Bit like loving cups, ah well..poetic licence!)

Now you have to understand It's done one truck at a time

One truck goes fills up comes back the drivers ain't sublime!

I didn't get filled 'till 6 o'clock after waiting all the day

And if my wheels ain't rolling I will not get no pay!

Come half past six my tanks were full I bobtail to the load

'The trailers they ain't here yet we will call you!' I explode!

Not that they see my explosion it was deep within

All they saw upon my visage was a silly grin!

So here I sit within my truck waiting for the knock

To say the trailers have arrived to go to Little Rock!

This plan is saving money on the price of fuel

At least two bucks a gallon so that seems very cool!

Now here comes the stupid bit drivers wait all day

As we're waiting for the fuel truck so the loads are late!

Why is it they cannot see this way of getting fuel

To save two bucks a gallon is a plan conceived by fools?

If we'd all left this morning filled up at the usual price

We'd be on our way back with a load tomorrow night!

8.53 in the p.m. and still waiting for my trailer to come over from.....Mexico!  It finally came and I hooked on at 10 in the p.m!
