"Today is a gorgeous fall day: bright, pristine-blue skies, with no clouds whatsoever, with temperatures in the middle to upper fifties, and a light wind blowing in from the northwest."

Anh Kim Sandusky writes in his journal while watching football on a bright, sunny Sunday afternoon.

Sunday, November 1, 2009,  Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1:57 p.m., C.S.T. (time changed this morning!!)~

Dear Journal~

Howdy!  Anh Kim here.  I am sitting here in my pad, watching some football (Dallas Cowboys vs. Seattle Seahawks; right now Dallas is winning, 21-10, in the third quarter, with 9 minutes to go!!  GO, Cowboys!!) with some friends, while my fiancee', Thu, visits with her friends in the kitchen.  We are having a wonderful time.

After the game, we will then go to church after our friends leave and spend the rest of the evening just enjoying each other's company.

We have school tomorrow, but tomorrow's our short day.  We have only two classes, then we have the rest of the day off to do anything we choose.  I love Sundays and Mondays!  :)

Sorry if I haven't written in such a long time; both Thu and I have been busy trying to keep up with our studies, and keep our grades up.  We are both doing very well academically, I am happy to say, and our social lives revolve around church, work, and helping our local Veterans, children, and seniors.  It's very gratifying to know that we are making needy people's lives easier just by being there for them and showing them that we care!

It is now November.  Hard to believe that it seemed like only yesterday when it was June!  (Where did July, August, and September go by so fast??  WOW!!)  Yesterday it was Hallowe'en, but we really didn't do anything except watch cheesy horror flicks and laugh our heads off at the lame plots and bad acting!  LOL

The flu has hit our campus hard.  Thankfully, Thu and I never got it (I already got my flu shots, thank you very much, both for the regular flu as well as the H1N1 flu), but we know some people who did.  Some were pretty sick, but are now recovered, thank goodness!

Today is a gorgeous fall day:  bright, pristine blue skies, with no clouds whatsoever, with temperatures in the middle-to-upper fifities and a light wind blowing in from the northwest.  The leaves are brilliantly displaying their fall colors; what a spectacular sight!!

And meanwhile, here we are, inside our place, watching football!  LOL  Oh, well!  We'll get out later, when we leave for church!  Maybe afterwards, Thu and I can go out to eat at Jack in the Box or McDonald's.  :)

In just a few weeks will be Thanksgiving.  We'll be flying home to Tennessee to spend that weekend with my family; it will be good to see mom, dad, grandpa, grandma, and my brothers and sisters again!  It's always crazy around Casa Sandusky, but it's something I've lived with since I was a little kid; they're the only family I've ever known!

After we have turkey and watch football on Thanksgiving Day, we'll continue our Christmas shopping the day after and mom and dad will take the little kids to see Santa Claus.  Then that Saturday we'll go downtown Nashville to see the Christmas Parade of Lights, the lighting of the Christmas tree, and the fireworks display.  So a busy weekend on tap Thanskgiving week!  :)

It's going to be a blast!  I can't wait to go home!!  :D

I have my finals for fall quarter of '09 on the 20th of this month; then we'll be off school for the remainder of the year, which means plenty of time for ministry work, mentoring kids, helping our seniors and Vets, and raising money for children's charities here in the Tulsa area.  I'll probably spend my time in Tennessee for a few weeks, then come back home to Tulsa, then return to Tennessee around Christmas time and stay there until the beginning of the year, or until school starts back up.

I'm just sorry I won't be home when it's Military Appreciation Night at Golden Corral, so I can take grandpa Armand, who's a Veteran, out for his free meal!  At least the family will; I have school that day and probably will be doing homework that night.  Bummer!

ALRIGHT!!!!  Dallas just scored a touchdown!!  We're now ahead 28-10!!  Woooo-HOOOO!!! GO, Dallas!!  Run those Seahawks into the ground!!  Show 'em what you're made of!!

If we pull this off and win the game, it will be a MIRACLE!!  :)

Well, the phone's ringing, and since I'm closest to it, I'd best answer it, see who it is.  Hopefully it isn't no dang sales call or wrong number; been getting a rash of that lately!  Very annoying!!  I will write in here again soon; until then, this is Anh Kim saying so long!  Take care and God bless!

~Anh Kim.  :)

"It's now November," indeed. Where did 2009 go? For that matter where did the last ten years go? Your friends seem to have life going as they wish, with good friends, in a good college and good spirituality. Sounds like a nice bunch of young people looking, for once, to be helpful to others.
