A girl struggles with being teased by the other children because she has mental disabilites.

My name is Bella.  I am 15 years old.

I don't like school. School makes me cry.  See, I am mnetally handicapped.  I have something called Down syndrome, which makes me learn slow and I act much younger than my real age.

Even though I am 15, I act more like six.  I love the colors pink and purple and I love dressing up as a princess.  I love playing with my toys and with my big brothers Duane and Lucas, who are 16 and 19.  I'm the baby.  I read picture books with simple words; the books for bigger kids are way too haerd for me.

The kids at school tease me.  They call me mentally retarded or dummy and I always end up going to the nurse because I can't take their teasing.  I get upset in the tummy and I feel like I'm gonna throw up (which I have).  When I do throw up, I go home for the day and I have to lie down until my tummy feels better.

What is bad is this: not only the regular kids tease me: so do the special kids in my Special Needs class.  They know I read bad and can't write bad, so they pick on me.  They hit me and push me and knock me down so I cut my knee or elbow or bang my face.

Mama is thinking of taking me out of school because the teasing has gotten so bad.  Mama thinks the other kids may try to hurt me, so she is thinking of teaching me at home.  That would be great because I hate school!!

Please pray to God to keep me safe and not for the kids to tease me.  I would really appreciate any and all your prayers!  Thank you so much!  Bye!

~Bella Grace.  :(

Sad, sad story, my friend. Too bad other children cannot see the pain that they inflect... As always, Karen, a very believable character.
