My Personal experience with people who have taken the By-Pass surgery route has prompted me to write this open letter to Star Jones. Our Public figures are in a position to help us get at the true costs of Stomach by-pass surgery. We have made some progress in making people aware of the risk verses success of Stomach by-pass. Two of my extended family members had the surgery and neither are better off for it.

An Open letter To Star Jones

Seven  years ago you changed your life by having Stomach by-pass surgery. It has been recorded that you lost 160 pounds in three years. Now in September of 2009 an article appears that you are gaining the weight back. The article, while not totally trustworthy stated that the gain has been 45 pounds. It appears that this weight gain is a fairly common outcome for many who have had stomach by-pass surgery. I have seen it in others, most notably Al Roker. Star your setting the record straight can have a very beneficial effect on potential by-pass patients. Will you let us know?

The questions we want answered are

Knowing what you know now, would you do it over again?

Did you actually gain 40  lbs back?

Do you eat healthier meals?

Do you enjoy your meals?

Do you recommend it for others?

What other changes have you made in the area of weight control and eating habits?

With appreciation and sincerity

I watch with interest what happens when overweight people begin to address their problem. I usually wonder what the underlying emotional issues are. When a person's weight is out of control, I wonder whether they are addressing all aspects of their lifestyle to achieve a balance. The American diet and lifestyle today tends toward what is convenient and fast over what is healthy for body and mind. People who are too stressed seem to have a greater tendency toward weight problems. Perhaps Ms Jones will enlighten us as to the full picture concerning her weight control choices.

Oh my! so God was the one botching the job? or it is true that gluttony is the primary cause our rear end gets hamburgers and fries bigger and our "pregnant" stomachs hanging beer-bags?
The problem, or not, of going the by-pass surgery path is that to maintain a healthy forage supply it will cost much more than hamburgs, fries and donuts (which are more tastier and cheaper than rabbit food)
Star Jones will feel what is good or bad to Star Jones, everyone is different and I will not put my life at risk because the procedure did or didn't reach the expected results on another person.
But that's just me.

I personally think it causes more problems in the end, and people have died or have become worse off since having it. So I am totally against it; yet on the other hand, what are those who live with morbid obesity supposed to do? The question remains.....

Well done!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(
