A Week End In New England

The trees have changed colors and the air is crisp with the approching winter just around the corner. Shops are filled with leaf peekers as they come to behold the magical sight of the fall in new england.
Tiny shops lit with small white lights welcome folks from all around the states with warn cups of hot chocolate or warm cider with cinimon sticks to stir with. Leaves crunch under your feet as you make your way down the sidewalks. This is the perfect time of year to bake. Apples are havested and fresh from the local trees. Every where you go it is one of the first deserts on the menu. Served with melted chedder cheese or vanilla ice cream. Houses are lit with warm fires as decorations are put up and family comes bearing hot dishes filled with sweet potato pie toipped with marshmellow. The wind blows outside but it means nothing to the hearty bunch of new englanders. You can take a ride through the winding back country roads into Vermont and witness the rolling hills that are still green but the trees are fire reds and yellows with splashes of purple. Horses graze on the green grass behind their snow white fences that almost look like they should be painted by the likes of Norman Rockwell. Its such a magical time for everyone around the area. Be it small country towns where pumpkins are plentiful on doorsteps or a simple walk along the beaches of Maine or Hampton or Rye. The air around you is ever crisp making your cheeks red. Children bringing home leaves that they have gathered along their way and mothers waitiing to help them press them between sheets of waxed paper while jars of Yankee candles burn on the stove. If you need a nice break take a trip and see the new england sights you will not forget them for a long time.
