A Hope to Embrace

We pray, seek wisdom from the Word of God, and listen to counsel from wise others. We do the best we can to be the channel through which God can flow to touch the hearts and lives of our beloved children.
I can sometimes add to that--I worry, obsess, get angry, and give emotional vent to my frustration. Less than I used to--but sometimes. I was in one of those "times" one day, sitting in a hotel far away from my kids at at book event, when the Lord spoke gently to my spirit (not verbally but in that quiet place deep down in my heart) "Focus on me and I will take care of your children."
Wow! I can't say that eliminated all my worry, etc., but it gave me a standard to live by, a hope to embrace, and a promise to stand upon. I will focus on You today, Lord, and trust you with my children. Love, Linda

You have given me an injection of hope. I need to be reminded that God is caring for my children too.

I have to agree with Rockie's review...
And to quote a wise man... "If we put the Lord first, all other things will fall into place." (or something like that...)

Linda,
I loved the line,
"We do the best we can to be the channel through which God can flow to touch the hearts and lives of our beloved children."
This thought transcends parenthood to a greater goal of God's children, to reach willing hearts and minds with the admonition of his truth.
This writing is special in that it reminds us to listen not to the clamor of crowd, nor to the taunts of Satan's minions, who shout out obscenities of failure to our souls, but to give heed to the still small voice of God within us, who is neither rude nor insolent, and goes not where he is unwanted. It is obvious after reading your story, that he lives in you, Linda.
Blessings to you and your children,
Rockie Coppolella
