This story was told to me by a Thai friend of mine a couple of years ago.
I was taking a break one day outside my office when this Thai friend of mine came up to me and wanted to talk. He said, "You know I believe in all of that. I am a Buddist, but I am a believer." That is when he told me his story.
He told me about how his grandmother had died five years ago. He told me that in Thailand, everyone is cremated. He said, "They have places that look like warehouses, but are funeral homes. They keep the body there in wooden boxes with the lid nailed down. They stay there until it is time for the cremation and all the people have had a chance to pay their last respects." He told me that his parents called him and wanted him to come home to pay his last respects to his grandmother. It took four days to get to Thailand and his parents picked him up at the airport. They told him that the Funeral Director was complaining about the awful smell coming from his grandmothers casket and he needed to cremate her body. So the went directly to the funeral home. When the arrived there the funeral director thanked them for getting there so quick and took him and his family to her casket. The funeral director took out his hammer and opened up the casket. A terrible smell came out of the casket. That is when Grandma sat up and talked to them. She went home with them that day. She is still alive today.
She is treated almost like a saint. "People come from all around to hear her stories about her rebirth and her days of death," my friend said.
Now, I never tell people to believe or not to believe in these stories. Nor do I make anyone believe in miracles. I let the reader form their own conclusion. Miracle or Coincedence ?
