Boo-Bear's New Pockets
My sister and I have a Boo-Bear.
We cry on her when we are sad.
We hug her when we're excited,
And talk to her when we are mad.

Bear listens to all of our problems,
She's troubled if we are not well.
Today she has her own problem,
Let's listen: it's her turn to tell:
Boo says that her dress is all dirty.
She says it is torn and it's old.
She wants a new dress with bright colors
With pockets for things she can hold.
We asked mom to find us material
To make for Boo-Bear a new dress.
Mom let us both look in her scrap box,
"This curtain will do I should guess."

Mom helped us to cut out a pattern.
We then sewed three pockets on fast.
We put in a bow and some pennies,
Some rocks, and Boo whispered, "At last!
I now can put tears in my pockets,
Your tears, when I cuddle you two,
So then you'll become quite excited
Instead of all weepy and blue."
Now Boo-Bear is proud of her pockets,
They're full of our tears. And that's why
We hope that you have your own Teddy
To cuddle you close when you cry.

| This is delightful. It is also wonderfully creative and bound to appeal to children. Nice job, Marion. Lou |
