If you use traffic exchanges or safelists to advertise online, there are some tools that can make your life easier. Some of these tools are website rotators, banner rotators and link trackers. This article will explain basics about each of those tools.
1) WEBSITE ROTATORS
If you want to advertise several websites on many advertising sites (like traffic exchanges), then website rotators can be a big help. Website rotators allow you to use one URL in order to advertise several different websites. You can register all your website URLs within website rotator program and then advertise only your unique rotator link. Each time your rotator link is accessed, different URL is loaded. This saves your time because you don't have to add your website URLs on each advertising site, one by one. You can just add your rotator link on every advertising site. Also, if you ever want to stop advertising one of your websites, or if you want to start advertising a new website, website rotators will save your time. You don't have to go to every single advertising site and remove old or add new website URL. You just have to go to your website rotator and remove or add website URL there. Your unique rotator link on every advertising site stays the same, so no changes to URL on different advertising sites are needed.
2) BANNER ROTATORS
These programs use the same concept as website rotators, only they rotate your advertising banners. You can also use these programs to manage banner spots on your websites if you have them. They provide to a little piece of code that you can add to your websites, and every time your websites are loaded, different banner will be shown to visitors. So, you don't have to change your website code each time you want to change the banner on your websites.
3) LINK TRACKERS
Link trackers will help you to determine effectiveness of your ads. These programs count how many times your advertising link is accessed. After you add your website URL within your link tracker program, you will be given unique tracker link. Each time this link is accessed, link tracker program will count the click and redirect the visitor to your advertised website. For example, if you send e-mail ad to specified number of people, link tracker program can tell you how many of those people read and clicked link in your e-mail add. So, you will know how effective is your ad copy or if this group of people is responsive to ads. With this info you can change your ad copy or target different people with your advertising.
