The novice takes to the internet of Social Networking to market her book
It all began, at least in my head, after I placed my book Olivia's Magic Conch on Kindle. Oh I have to tell you up front, I was scared to death when I came to the realization that being an indie author I could not afford any more marketing scams and that if I wanted to reach the masses I would have to do it myself.
Generally I am not afraid of a challenge, I am social and I am ambitious so what is my problem? My angst comes from the fact I am a computer illiterate. What I know about the computer pales by comparison with what I know about anything else.I am not a dumb blonde, but then I don't even know a dumb blonde, Are there any? Sorry I'll save that for another article.
In my day I stood before hundreds on stage giving seminars, getting a rush that made me feel powerful. Now I am alone at my desk, no one can see me,or hear me and I feel meek.
If it wasn't for the memory of forcing my credo on my now grown kids to never be afraid of a challenge, to take chances in your careers, I wouldn't be writing this now.
I am going to do this and I am going to succeed why? Because in my own words back in the day when Mommy was in charge I told my children they could do anything they set their minds to if they recited these words, " I'm big, I'm strong, I'm smart, I can do it and I will."
