a fine book...
My Words, My Thoughts, My Heart
By Myrna D. Badgerow
A Book Review
This book is delightful on many levels.
Myrna, though she calls herself a poet’s apprentice, works with verve in a variety of poetic forms within the pages of this book, dispelling the belief that formed poetry is antiquated and too constricting.
So well, does she employ these forms that the reader is unaware of them.
Instead, the reader is escorted on a vivid journey into a woman’s life. This journey takes the reader though a diverse landscape of love, of friendship and family, of loss and survival.
Myrna’s imagery is colorful, vivid and textured, which considering her visual impairment, is remarkable. Her style of writing is a wonderful and comfortable blend of classic and contemporary.
It is also very intimate, giving the reader the feeling that they not only reading the words, but hearing them from the authors soul in soft conversation.
My Words, My Thoughts, My Heart can be completely read in one sitting…or sampled a poem at a time, but one thing I can assure you…you will return to it again and again.
