a thoroughly entertaining book...
A Will Of My Own, A Memoir
By F. William Broome
A Book Review
This book is so thoroughly entertaining; it almost defies trying to review it with justice.
It is an artful and fascinating blend of biography and history. As it entertains, it also teaches.
And it is damned fun to read.
The book is laid out in a series of vignettes in a style that brings to mind the works of Mark Twain and Will Rogers, The authors wit and humor drive the writing, in a warm, comfortable flow of rich imagery, observations and fact.
From the Great Depression, through WWII to the present, F. William Broome gives the reader vivid slices of life and events of the country and world…and family and friends.
It beautifully illustrates the uniqueness of life and life experiences as well as those moments of commonality we all share.
I highly recommend this book to anyone.
