The Power of Endorsement

I believe in the power of endorsement. The acknowledgment and encouragement of another’s rough skills is empowerment for discovery and refinement. Extending belief and hope to others that have been broken and victimized lends empowerment anew. Growth is attainable and easily accessible once the power of endorsement is at play.

Every precious stone must be refined to gain its full luster. Few are found by their own brilliance with no hindrance. Most are deeply embedded by geological forces that need precious care for full extension of quality and brilliance. The slow and patient chipping away of ragged edges releases the jewel tone of shine and pleasure to the eye.

It is no different with people of every culture, class, and race. At every standpoint, the power of belief and acknowledgment to another person’s unrefined abilities sets free and enables the undiscovered or the defeated. Actively listening and endorsing others as they attempt to move forward is as much a duty to a healthy way of living as it is extending a helping hand. Endorsing others as they explore options in their lives gives allowance for growth and awareness. It takes no special teaching skills to set forth the power within another. The art of listening and believing in another person’s ability to discover for himself has immeasurable reward. Self-discovery upon taken dares bring their own revelations. The fruit of the bounty will be widely understood when guided by the wise listener who endorses with a gentle word of encouragement. Light breaks in as chiseled edges in disbelief are disavowed. Endorsement has won its power.

We are faced with a constant stream of negative media attention daily. It is easy to focus on the woes of society at large with such crime waves and horror all around. And yet, the joy of focusing on the power of endorsing, on empowering another, is to give a chance to the next generation. It is to pass on an opportunity for growth and understanding within another. Sharing an opportunity for enlightenment through giving an ear, by extending wisdom and a heart of compassion, is to extend endorsement’s power. The cycle of perplexity and confusion is broken. This I believe.
