Are their Martians out there?
Is there life on Planet Mars? I think there must be but I cannot back up my statement. My suggestion is based only upon the little boy within me.
When I was about 6 years old, I used to listen to space programs on the radio. Hours were spent in fantasy, imagining that Martians and aliens were present on this mysterious Red Planet. I was so fascinated by it all that it has followed me all through my life.
I don't look at the stars or anything like that. I woud not know where to start. However, a story has been deep within me that one day would come to reality - in my life anyway. That was, a trip to the planet itself.
Therefore, about 9 months ago, I began to put pen to paper, no, fingers to my laptop - and began to write THE WISHING BOOK.
I had so much fun writing this title. I became lost in it. For me, being an author, the exciting bit is being able to allow the mind to wander and allow things to happen that are utterly incredible and could never be explained.
This is what happened with this book. I created 4 children who find a magical book that grants wishes. From there came prank after prank as the children tried out these wishes on unsuspecting people. I then went further and the children arrived on Planet Mars, where the adventure became very exciting.
I created monsters with strange names and allowed the children to walk about the planet without spacesuits or breathing apparatus. Unbelevable but that's what pure fantasy is.
As the chapters went on, the children began to take on hero status and achieved far more than the average child could do. At the end of the book, I just knew that I had to write a sequel THE WISHING BOOK 2 - RETURN TO MARS. That has now been released and the adventure continues.
Still I have many ideas for the children and a 3rd is planned for publication perhaps in May 2010.
Is there life on Mars? Yes, definitely, in my life anyway.
