Lately, I've been visiting flea markets several times a week. I can't stay away. Every day there is something new. I don't really need anything, but when I see it, I'll know I need it. So I go again and again to see what's new and talk to the people who buy and sell at the market. Here
are some of the best items to find at the flea market.
Antiques - You never know what you will find or how its value can increase. If you know something about antiques - or would like to learn, start at the flea market. Antique shops are not likely to yield bargains as dealers will charge the most they can possibly get. At the flea market you may find undiscovered treasures.
Toys - The Flea Market Is a great place to buy and sell toys. Kids outgrow toys quickly and there is always a variety for sale. You can find bikes and playhouses as well as dolls, games and books. Why pay full price when you can get barely used toys at a fraction of the cost?
Books - Books abound at the flea market, both collectible and just for reading. You can find recent best sellers at half price or less. It's also a great place to complete a book collection. You will find book dealers who will search for hard to find books for you and who can talk to you about your favorite author and make recommendations of books you may like.
Jewelry - You will find both fine and costume jewelry, antique and contemporary. You may find hand crafted jewelry right from the artist. You can wear one of kind pieces instead of department store items.
Produce - Most flea markets have produce in season and flowers and plants. It's a wonderful opportunity to buy locally grown products that have not been trucked across the country to reach you.
Tools - Find used and new tools at bargain prices. There are always people selling their excess tools or downsizing. From hand tools to power tools you can save a lot buying second hand. You can usually try the tool right there to make sure it works.
