Matthew 7:15-16 (TLB)
"Beware of false teachers who come disguised as harmless sheep, but are wolves and will tear you apart. You can detect them by the way they act, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit. You need never confuse grapevines with thorn bushes or figs with thistles."
Today we seem to have an over abundance of "false teachers", those who would teach a gospel other than the Gospel of Jesus the Christ. Jesus tells us about these false teachers in this scripture and warns us to beware of them; He tells us that they are "disguised as harmless sheep". On the surface they appear to be following in His footsteps and teaching His Word but many preach and teach their own doctrine with their own self glorification as the goal. Many adhere to the "politically correct" method of teaching and preaching. The idea is not to offend anyone so that the collection plates remain full and the church membership stays large. Whatever their platform, Jesus says we can identify them easily by their fruit and that we never have to be confused about what is Truth and what is not. Remember to use the gift of discernment God has given you to avoid the false teachings that abound around you. Remember that "God is not the author of confusion" and that His Word contains all the Truth you will ever need.
