Being shy is something that many of us go through. It is not uncommon to feel nervous around others and maybe even intimidated by them. But as we grow older, we must learn how to break this habit before it becomes an issue. I have struggled with shyness throughout my life and I can say that it is not a pleasant thing. It cost me many opportunities that I should have taken and many friendships that I could have had. I eventually began to come out of my shell when I reached high school.
