My review for the Korean action/thriller Chaser
Chaser is a South Korean thriller that is bloody enough to stand up with the best horror film Kim Yoon-Suk stars as Jung-ho, a disgraced cop turned pimp, whose girls have started to go missing. At first thinking they have simply ran away with money he had loaned them, he becomes suspicious when Mi-Jin, one of his remaining girls, goes missing. Checking his phone records he finds that all three girls went missing after going on assignment to the same phone number. He starts a search for the girls, believing them to have been stolen and sold but eventually the truth is much darker.
An accident brings him face to face with the customer, but no clue as to the missing girls. Based on a true story Chaser is a gritty, fast paced and gory film. Even though the viewers find out from near the start, who the killer is and exactly what he is doing it is still an intriguing movie. Is Mi-Jin alive and if so will Jung-ho find her in time? Nothing turns out like you suspect it will in Chaser.
