Hold your head high

One of the most profound quotes made by Dr.Martin Luther King was.
"A man can only ride your back when it is bent."
That statement rings true today. Back in 1967. Dr.King was trying to tell Black America that we as people must stand tall. Black America can't let White America continue to abuse and marginalize you. As long as we stand tall. and erect nobody can run over you or ride your back. Some 37 years later Black Americans must not bend their backs. It was important in 1960s for survival. Today it is important for growth. It was clear in 1960s that many White Americans wanted to limit and marginalize Black American through blatant discrimination and segregation.
That was a way of keep Black people down. Today many White people will ride Black Americans backs with Racial profiling and denying access to capital. One the most profound ways some White people will ride the backs of Black Americans is through divide and conquer. Some White Americans are terrified of unified Black Community. The tragic part is many Black Americans continue to bend their backs.
They bend their backs when they get involved in drug trade or become a gang banger. They bend their backs when Black people fight each other and ultimate kill each other. They bend their backs when even the most intellectual and successful Black Americans join forces with White hypocrits to further keep Black Americans divided. Many of these intellectual Black Americans fail unite the Black Community. Many White males in this country will ride the back of Black people to stay in control and keep them down. It is still very clear in this country that many Black men and woman have failed to practice Dr.King's words. Many Black Americans bednd their backs when they spend most of their money on White owned and operate businesses and services and never supported Black owned businesses and services. Black Americans bend their backs when they become part of organizations like the Republican Party or support issues by Right Wing demogs. Black Americans bend their backs when they refuse to help their fellow Black Americans less fortunate to find prosperity and happiness. Black Americans bend their backs by failing to unite and build social and economic prosperity. Some Black Americans bend their backs when they disgrace themselves with an awful appearance. Far to many young Black Americans dress like thugs. They bend their backs by disrespecting themselves by being illiterate and ignorant. These are the people who are abused by racist cops. These people interfere with the growth and progress of hard working law abiding citizens in the Black Community.
It time Black American stand tall and really help each other. Get of welfare. Get of drugs. Get of out the gangs. Stop all the violence. Stop being ignorant. The Black Americans who have the money and influence need to stand tall and help their fellow Black American to realize social and economic prosperity. Black Americans and never bend our backs. As long as Black Americans stand tall and stay clean and honorable White racist can't ride their backs. Black Americans like
Muhammad Ali, Bill Cosby, Minister Louis Farakan, Jim Brown, Coretta Scott King, Vernon Jordan, Kareen Abdul Jabbar, Rachel Robinson, Bill Russell, Oprah Winphrey, Sidney Poiter and many others are examples of Black Americans who have stayed true to their convictions and stood tall. White Americans are forced to respect them for skill, talent, and intellect. These people never wavered and achieved and never bent their backs.
We must all remember what Dr.King was saying. Stand Tall. When you stand tall can control you or knock you down.
and keep you down.
