Would you like to take a short ride in the county and experience how one young family are working their dream to have an apple orchard and raise their children? Kim and Jared Lapacek have an apple orchard just north of Madison at N1959 Kroncke Road, Poynette, WI.
The last special event of the season will be the Hand-Crafted Hoedown on Friday, November 19th and Saturday, November 20th from 9am to 5 pm. There will be items available from more than 15 local artists and will include: quilts, ornaments, baskets, bags and purses, holiday decorations, baby items, hand-dyed clothing, jewelry, crocheted hats, candles and more.
Fresh baked goods, apples, apple cider will be available from Lapaceks Orchard. Among the apple varieties currently available there are: Braeburn, Granny Smith, Cameo, Red Delicious, Idared and Fireside. At www.lapaceksorchard.com there is a list of the varieties grown at the orchard. Click on each variety and a popdown gives a complete description and history of the apple.
You can take the short drive to the orchard on Highway 51 North past DeForest and Arlington. Take Highway 22 (bear right) for 1 block then turn right at Highway 60. Take a left on Kronke Road, the orchard will be on your left. For specific directions from your home visit: www.lapaceksorchard.com and click on directions in the upper right hand corner. You will find an interactive map that will provide specific directions.
