Describes how to participate in a renewable energy program.

Did you know that you can select the source for electric for electric energy in your home? You can. Alliant Energy provides a choice to consumers called Second Nature. Second Nature is a voluntary green energy pricing program which specifically supports renewable energy sources.

In Wisconsin 27.4% of electric energy is provided by wind energy. In Second Nature consumers chose to make an additional monthly contribution to cover the cost of harvesting wind to produce electricity. The program does not require purchase of any additional equipment or retrofitting existing equipment. Consumers don’t need to make any changes in lifestyle. What changes is the source used to generate electric power that you use.

Currently about 16,000 consumers have decided to join the program. There are three levels of participation available:

25% with an additional cost of about $4.00/mo.

50% with an additional cost of about $8.00/mo.

100% with an additional cost of about $16.00/mo.

For additional information on this program visit: allaintenergy.com.
