Counting blessings on a regular basis has been proven to have healthy benefits.

When sitting at the dinner table on Thanksgiving Day reflecting about the things in your life you are most thankful for, remember that such reflections on the other 364 days of the year will not only benefit your frame of mind, but your overall health as well. If suffering from the present economic state, you may be otherwise in good health which is much to be grateful for. However, if your health isn’t the best, perhaps your supportive family members are worth a thankful recognition. The scenarios are endless if some thought is put into finding the positive in life which deserves a note of thanks.

Researchers claim that a daily acknowledgement of gratitude for whatever is positive in your life will keep an otherwise elevated blood pressure at a normal level. Psychologically, there will be less hostility and anger when counting blessings on a regular basis. This will lessen the chance of depression which is the basis for alcoholism, various phobias, and more. According to scientific studies, a daily gratitude check will also support a better immune system. So, why not take a few moments every morning, not only Thanksgiving Day, and be sincerely thankful for something. And, no need to keep all your counted blessings to yourself. Express your gratitude to others, even for what seems to be insignificant. Radiate your appreciation for all good things. You will be healthier while doing so.
