COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS
It has been proven in various studies that those who make a point of counting blessings on a daily basis have a better outlook on life. If you begin your day listing what you are thankful for, less fortunate situations will be better tolerated.
LAUGH OUT LOUD
Find the fun in life. Watch a comedy. Gather with friends who are happy, who tend to put a smile on your face. Enjoy those silly emails sent from everyone you know. Laugh at the innocence of a playful child. When you wear a smile, your heart will as well.
AVOID MORNING NEWS
Never begin your day watching or listening to the news. There’s nothing wrong with catching up with current events when necessary. However, beginning the day learning about world tragedies, economic woes, and more will create the negative mindset for the day.
LEND A HAND
There is a personal contentment one will feel when volunteering to help others in need and less fortunate in one way or another. Your generosity of time and effort will return to you in some way, including a feeling of self worth for giving to someone in need.
Use a treadmill or take a jog through the neighborhood. Aerobic type of exercise is known to elevate endorphin levels. Stress will diminish and your overall mood will be less gloomy. Your body will be more energized, and your mind will be as well.
