This small article in Bengali focuses on the transformation of health, disease and body in relationship to public health. It tries to show how precolonial conception of health was reconstituted through encounters with modern medicine during colonial period. Public health does not only need a good trained professional, it needs in addition a definite philosophical position which is not taught in regular medical curricula. So, in order to construct public health program in a meaningful way, the ongoing public health does need to be de-constructed and reconstituted again. This article has been published in the March issue of the little magazine EKAK MATRA, from Kolkata.
