Laura Simpson, my friend and fellow pet rescuer in New England, recently posted Shadow’s story on the Care2 Animal Welfare website. She has been following our efforts to save him from a life of loneliness and distrust. And she, like all animal advocates and rescuers today, believes that every abandoned, abused, and neglected animal deserves far better than mankind is now affording them.
Laura is the founder of the Harmony Fund International Rescue Charity, and The Great Animal Rescue Chase, an international effort to save the lives of one million abandoned and abused animals.
The Harmony Fund is a unique charity network that sustains the work of animal rescue groups throughout the world in their daily missions to protect and heal animals others might deem ‘unreachable.’ With current projects in 16 countries and the annual rescue of several thousand animals, the Harmony Fund takes a unique approach that allows supporters to enjoy an uplifting experience free of graphic photos and of dire forecasts.
So if you have a few dollars to spare, please consider donating to her Harmony Fund – a most worthy cause – and a most needed one today.
“It doesn't take years of training or arms of steel to rescue animals. We all have an innate ability to stop cruelty and suffering. So roll up your sleeves and put your boots on. You can deliver absolute joy to animals who have forgotten what it feels like to be loved or even to sleep without fear.”
